  2. what would the range be for an 'average' ocean view condo in Jomtien? Actually many of the condos in Jomtien have ocen view - 50-75 k per square meter.
  3. Any hotel or travel agent can arrange it. What I remember a minibus has 9 seats + the seat beside the driver. Very limited with place for luggage inside the bus. Price around 4,000 + petrol. Your problem is that you maybe need 2 minibuses and double cost. And yes ask the company to bring ice - always useful and no extra charge.
  4. Shamas, there're dozens of good hotels from Sabai Lodge (Soi 2) and down, the biggest problem is however that I've never found a really soft and nice bed in LOS. So maybe we concentrate on the beds and instead ask if some BMs know a hotel with soft beds.
  5. sinkorswim, if you follow the link I posted above they say: "Not only will it NOT be issued, but you CANNOT renew your current investment visa on this basis."
  6. Pete, the 3 million visas will probably be stopped too Source
  7. You mean after 60 days I guess - yes, but I think you must stay outside Thailand for 90 days after such a stay in Thailand. Or at least your passport must, I start to suspect that if you have 2 passports you can still stay in Thailand for an unlimited time.
  8. Also discussed on thai360.com (old nanaplaza.com) in this thread
  9. Maybe HSBC has one or a few outside their BKK office, but as Gary said no reason to have own ATMs, banks charge eachotther for the ATM-service.
  10. This way they'll avoid the short flight in the night between the airports. Bangkok Airways will move to the new airport already on the 21th. The Nation
  11. LK Mansion is on 341/38 Moo 9, even if most things are wrong in the address I don't think you write 400/2 instead of 341/38. Any member in the area now?
  12. Mansion 400/2 M00 9 Soi Chalermprakeit 19 Patayakang 3 Bangkamoong Chonburi There're several hotels with mansion in the name in Moo 9 area but none with the address 400/2 Soi Chalermprakeit 19 is an apartment building I think (at least a google said so) Patayakang = Pattaya Klang (Krang) or Central Pattaya Road Bangkamoong = Banglamung
  13. A bus line # 389 Suvarnabhumi Airport - Pattaya link Some more info about this bus?

  15. There were more blacks from USA and Africa coming to Pattaya some years ago than now, but I don't think that's related to racism. OK, BGs tell us (me=fat, old white) that they don't like chocolate men, not like arabs, not like muslims, not like young men and so on, but they're just saying what they think we want to hear. You go with a BG one night and she tells you that she don't like muslims and young men because you're white and old, next night her boyfriend who is a young arab returns to Pattaya. Thais in general are racists, they regard themselves as superior to people from other countries. BGs are less racist as they have more contacts with foreigners but the most important thing is that they want money. So IMO you will not have any problems.
  16. A problem with ordinary taxis I've seen discussed on an other board is that taxis are not allowed near the terminal, to come to a taxi you must take a shuttle bus (with your luggage of course) to the taxi area, just limos are allowed in an area outside the terminal.
  17. I suggest you ask the hotel in Pattaya to send a limo to pick you up from the hotel in BKK - price between 1000-1200 baht I guess + tollroads (I pay 1200 baht from Don Muang to Pattaya + 145 baht for tollroads). If you take a taxi in Bangkok you must be careful to get a metered taxi not those hanging around the hotels, they will charge you the double (around 2000 baht). You must also be prepared to guide the taxi driver to your hotel. Forget the bus alternative if you have luggage, also you would have problem with negotiating with a bahtbus about the trip to your hotel. First night try to find some experienced guys who can introduce to the nightlife. If you don't have any contacts in Pattaya go to Walking street and FLB-bar. Welcome to Pattaya btw.
  18. It's high season also because of a lot of thais come to Pattaya over X-mas and NY, before they leaving they book the same period for the next year. Still there're many hotels in Pattaya, it's always possible to find a room even if you maybe have to walk around to find one.
  19. Maybe it will be heaven instead: George W. Bush, Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso have all died. Due to a glitch in the mundane/celestial time-space continuum, all three arrive at the Pearly Gates more or less simultaneously, even though their deaths have taken place decades apart. The first to present himself to Saint Peter is Einstein. Saint Peter questions him. "You look like Einstein, but you have NO idea the lengths certain people will go to, to sneak into Heaven under false pretenses. Can you prove who you really are?" Einstein ponders for a few seconds and asks, "Could I have a blackboard and some chalk?" Saint Peter complies with a snap of his fingers. The blackboard and chalk instantly appear. Einstein proceeds to describe with arcane mathematics and symbols his special theory of relativity. Saint Peter is suitably impressed. "You really are Einstein! Welcome to heaven! The next to arrive is Picasso. Once again Saint Peter asks for his credentials. Picasso doesn't hesitate. "Mind if I use that blackboard and chalk?" Saint Peter says, "Go ahead." Picasso erases Einstein's scribbles and proceeds to sketch out a truly stunning mural. Bulls, satyrs, nude women: he captures their essences with but a few strokes of the chalk. Saint Peter claps. "Surely you are the great artist you claim to be! Come on in!" The last to arrive is George W. Bush. Saint Peter scratches his head. "Einstein and Picasso both managed to prove their identity. How can you prove yours?" George W. looks bewildered, "Who are Einstein and Picasso?" Saint Peter sighs, "Come on in, George."
  20. Tengotodo, are you sure GF means girlfriend? Maybe he's thinking about guest-friendly? Same with BF BTW, boyfriend or barfine!
  21. I stayed there with TGF some years ago. Nice big rooms, but the employees insulted her - we asked for a massage place and they asked if her customer wanted an other girl for a threesome and she's not a BG.
  22. I have seen this problem from the thai side instead. TGF couldn't get a thai credit card the first years we knew eachother even if she had regular income (the money sent from me) and land and house ownership. After our 1st apartment building was ready thai tax authority asked for her to pay tax on that income, with a paper from tax authority showing that she payed tax resulted in getting a VISA-card. So I guess that normally a farang must have a work permit combined with a paper showing that he has a taxable income in LOS to get a credit card.
  23. Thanks, and as info for others Com City is a part of tuk com.
