  1. That was based on what I've heard in Thailand (returned yesterday). Also as far as I know no negotiations have started with thai air force for how much they ask for reopen DM as a civilian airport - temporarily or not. Some equipments were moved to the new airport and new must be ordered before DM can open again. More than 100 immigration and customs officers must be recruited too if there will be international flights, but even if just domestic officers for security controls are needed. It can take weeks or months before that happens.
  2. Not to mention Isaan Issan Issaan Esarn Esan + many more I usually use the english spelling from thai tourism or other authorities so you avoid spelling thai currency bath. Soi Buakaow IMO If you study the map of Pattaya you'll find that we miss the 1st Rd, but that's the old official name of Beach Rd!

    Smart women

It's only a paper moon... but maybe she's a good fuck (even if I don't think so)
  4. One of the girl I was there with ordered a Tom Yum Gung and received a bowl with an uninspired soup, no flavour nothing and at the bottom a giant tiger prawn. As she said that cook never had seen real thai food. One of the other girls is a muslim and protested as the bread they served was bacon bread, without mentioning it.
  5. Phone and ask 038-278 582
  6. Just a comment, the thai government has decided that the Don Muang airfield owned by thai air force will be a reserve airport, no actual decision to move some flights there has been taken. I guess that domestic flights from the not international airports (Chiang Mai, Phuket, Hat Yai - more ?) will be be moved there for some time.
  7. I went to Mantra with 3 ladies and it costed 5,600 baht. The food is 70 % chinese even if they have pizza for 460 baht and sirloin steak for 900. The building is very nice and the bar fantastic but it was my first and last visit.
  8. Remember that Phuket and Krabi today are much more expensive than Pattaya, IMO roughly double for everything - hotel, travel, food and so on. So you're 2-2,5 k hotel is less than half price in Pattaya for same standard.
  9. Sorry to say that previous years I've never seen any such website - in english of course maybe in thai....
  10. Yes, but I guess you have to leave the airplane in most cases?
  11. Evil, last link didn't work, I googled and found this instead Dream Hotel
  12. They don't say that the flights are direct: "Flight Nbr - - - Aircraft Type - - - - - - Days of Operation - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Departs - - - - Arrives TG 795 - - - - - A340-500 - - - MON / WED / THU / FRI / SAT / SUN - - - - - LAX 2310 - - - BKK 0610+2 TG 794 - - - - - A340-500 - - - MON / WED / THU / FRI / SAT / SUN - - - - - BKK 1940 - - - LAX 2110 Between New York and Bangkok beginning 01 MAY 2007 TG 791 - - - - A340-500 - - MON / TUE / WED / THU / FRI / SAT / SUN - - NYC 1200 - - - BKK 1610+1 TG 790 - - - - A340-500 - - MON / TUE / WED / THU / FRI / SAT / SUN - - BKK 0040 - - - NYC 0635" If you check arrival times it looks like that TG 795 and TG 791 are not direct - probably vis Narita, but later those flights will go via chinese airports. I've heard from friends in the US who are entusiastic to have the chance to stay a few nights in China on each flight to LOS.
  13. Just a question Michelangelo, do you speak at least some french? Because I've heard several times the french stewardesses being very rude to american or english passengers, serving wrong dish or drink and just ocmplain with high voice in french of people who think the can go to an other country without learning the language. If they understand you're not american or english they can speak rather good english but to native english speakers - non monsieur.
  14. If you made the contacts directly with hotels there're several reasons for delays, first only one girl there can read and write english so as she works on saturdays and sundays they just answer those days - if she's not on holiday or stopped work in the hotel. Second is that the hotel prefer to sell the rooms to the full price so if they're rather full-booked they wait and see if they can sell it to somebody else for 500-1000 baht/night more.
  15. If you want it cheaper you must go down in standard and/or location, so take it.
  16. Some swedish companies have call centers in the Phillippines and India. Some also have construction departments with civil engineers in same countries. Forget Thailand if you want cheap labour cost, Thailand has 4 million illegal guest workers from countries around. In Cambodia many under 25 speak very good english so if you can arrange satellite communication maybe that's the optimal country to set up a call center.
  17. Sure else you must have foreign currencies accounts and such they give to companies doing export and import, don't know if you need a permit for these in LOS however.
  18. In most countries the exchange rates you get in airports are not so good, but BKK is an exception as it's the same as the normal bank rates. If you're wise and change outside the banks you can get more - often half way between buying and selling rates in the banks.
  19. You can own a house but not the land (with one exception but you must invest 40,000,000 baht via BoI), you can also lease a house for 30 years with an option the renew the 30 year period, but if the lease contract isn't registered with the land office it's just valid to for 3 years. 49/51 - there were a 10 year exception for that rule in some places so in those condos farangs can own 100 % - ask your lawyer.
  20. I've never flown KLM, but the 2 other are equal. AF has better wines (of course) but Lufthansa has better food. If you speak french you'll get very good service from the french stewardesses, else it can be really bad. Lufthansa has good service even if you don't speak german. I speak both so I prefer AF.
  21. clickable
  22. Some internet booking sites list it: Location Central Pattaya Hotel name Twin Palm Resort Address 429/1 M. 9 Beach Road Tel. +66 38 428779-80 Fax. +66 38 421779 Room No. 75 Room Rate 700-700 Thai Baht Website - Just an example
  23. If you find your medicines in an ordinary pharmacy you don't need a prescription or is illegal as viagra and cialis. Some medicines are just found in the hospital pharmacies and there you need a presciption from a doctor working in that hospital.
