  1. On a similar note. I have difficulty sleeping over there unless I have had a belly full of alcohol. In the past girls have gone to the pharmacy for me and bought me sleeping pills. They were great and did the trick, always got a good 8 hours every time I took one. They were little purple things, not sure of the name though. I know that you can't buy them in all pharmacies...Does anybody know which one' s do supply sleeping pills.
  2. I stand corrected...I thought it was Raemonn who introduced the Celtic songs to the School but the teaching of them was obviously something that had gone on long before he arrived. Thanks for the info as I have been fascinated with this since I first read about the Thai Tims.......... but my god............. what a horrible tragic ending that young man endured. The trial of the accused starts towards the end of this month.
  3. Fantastic videos....The smiles on the kids are infectious and the energy displayed is there for all to see. But the whole story is one of tragedy. The Scottish kid(Raemonn Gormley) who brought all of this to Chanthaburi was murdered on his return to Scotland at the age of 19. He made a huge impression on the lives of all those children and the teachers of the school. His memory will live forever.
  4. Bangkok to Clark via Macau with Air Asia can be done without any overnight stops. Well it could a few months ago....flight times were good. Return journey can be done via Kuala Lumpur. There are no direct flights although there has been talk of a few airlines introducing that route now for about 2 years including Cebu.
  5. No.......No way.........definately not in Pattaya
  6. Getting in around 6.15pm on Sunday 7th September. Anybody around at that time looking to share let me know....I'm going straight to Pattaya (Jasmine Mansion).
  7. Don't know which country you hail from but according the Emirates Skywards information i just read on thier website you need to redeem only 75,000 miles to qualify for a free return economy flight from the UK to Thailand. Way less than the 130,000 that you mention. Hope I'm reading it correctly as I have almost 70,000 miles in the bank.
  8. I spent a very enjoyable night with one of your bike riders...her attitude was 10/10....she evetually left my company at 4pm the next day....The only reason I never came back for her was that she couldn't speak a word of English. So I hope you are working on that now Paul...by the way she is only 18 years old...I think her name is Oh....
  9. Count me in if you decide to go with it.......I think your place is great.....up to when that guy Morrison goes on that is. LOL Seriously...I always visit 2/3 times every trip. The price of your drinks has not been an issue with me and as much as I realise why they are a wee bit more expensive it is never a reason for me not to go. But a discount I'm sure will increase numbers through the door and may just encourage me to go more often as I like a bar that recognises regulars and is prepared to offer something in return for there loyalty.
  10. It is great News and thanks for your concern brother....I dont know about you but it had the potential to effect my trip...im travelling on the 18th....fingers crossed things will be ok. If you are gonna be anywhere near Pattaya for a couple of weeks from the 18th let me know and we will have a beer.
  11. Just listened to the TV 6 o'clock news and it was reported that both sides are now talking and the initial strike dates have been cancelled.......nothing definate yet but things are looking good and the smart money is on there not being any strikes.
  12. Im flying( I hope) Emirates out of Glasgow and into Dubai. Have you any idea what stance the Airline would take on this if our flights are grounded due to strike action? Would we have to re-book and is it money lost to you and I ?
  13. Ok Mr. Toom.....Thanks fot that.
  14. The whole idea of striking action is to cause major disruption but the action is normally called when all attempts at negotiation have failed and is seen as the only course of left to take in an effort to get compromise. You are right...... it is the paying public who suffer at all times and in all strikes.
  15. Oh Shit....Bayern....doesn't that big Italian centre forward, Luca Toni, who put paid to Scotland's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2008 by scoring 3 over the two games play with them????? Still, I remember a few years ago Raith Rovers going to Munich in a European competition and being 1-0 up at half time before going down 2-1. You never know. Cmon the Dons
  16. I have a feeling your post aint gonna get much response from members so I'm gonna just add my congratulations. I watched on TV and it was a fantasticc result with Jamie Smith's first goal absolutely outstanding .. Hey apart from the lad who is on loan from Birmingham am i right in thinkin that all other Aberdeen players tonight were Scottish.
  17. I've just booked Mr. Toom...anybody looking to share a ride please let me know
  18. Below is a cut and paste from an AC board. twice daily via air asia..... had the pleasure to welcome once again our good friend victor luciano president and ceo of clark international airport at c'italian tonight for a quick dinner! quite rightfully he beamed with pride as he informed a group of friends that the clark bangkok flights have finally been approved, the starting date is set for march. reservations are accepted and can be made starting january. i will post another message tomorrow with price estimates, i do recall that victor informed me that one flight will be
  19. Yip...its the right address...it is not like him to take so long to reply...I would drop him another.
  20. I've got them...i can even see a girl havin a bath in the background of one of them....you would have thought she would have showered before she came to work.
  21. And another unsolicited testimonial for Mr.Toom's service. On my trip last month used him three times and each and every one everything was as arranged. I've lost count of the number of times I have used Mr Toom (maybe around twenty) I've never had a problem.
  22. I stayed there last month and I can confirm new carpets in rooms and generally the Hotel looked a bit fresher. This is a decent hotel at 700baht a night(low season). I also like the location
  23. Dubai Airport currently is a nightmare and about 90% of the times i have used it the aircraft gets parked up somewhere about a 10 minute bus ride from the terminal both arrival/ departure alike. They badly need the new terminal opened. There are actually two Emirates lounges for business passengers/silver members. When it is particularily busy both are in operation as they were 10 days ago when i passed through. They are almost directly opposite each other. Reasonable facilities though if you can get a seat (not always easy).
  24. Yes there was talk of that happening before the turn of the year but nothing as yet has been confirmed. Cebu Pacific intended flying that route as well but just read that there application has been rejected in the meantime.
