Not sure mate..but it did rain rather heavily in my journey so it looks like the rain water managed to find it's way into the luggage compartment. BTW I am not saying that people should not travel by bus between Bangkok and Pattaya as I am sure it suits a lot of people for whatever reason. My post is about my experience and I will in future travel by taxi and in most probability with Mr. Toom who's service I have found very good value for money.

Charming....Let me assure you 100% I do NOT, repeat NOT, loose any sleep over anything you post. Have a nice day and kindly refrain from sending me offensive PMs. Actually that is not a bad idea to ignore your posts...in doing that I would fall in line with 95% of this Board's members.

Why the fuck do you just not send the guy an e-mail the same as every other member. His address has been printed here a hundred times. Is there nothing ever easy with you.

By your way of thinking the 45 minutes from the Sabai till the bus leaving Ekammi didnt matter. I would have been 30 miles up the road if I had been in taxi instead of just leaving the Pattaya Bus Station. Also the traffic in Sukhumvit was at a standstill resulting in a 1 hour and twenty minute two mile taxi ride from Ekammi to my Hotel. I would not have been on Sukhumvit if I hadnt got the bus and would have approached my hotel from the expressway. The end result was a four hour plus journey because I travelled on the bus. If I had been in a taxi I would have been there in two hours with dry luggage.

Torrenova, you forgot to add that your luggage is stowed in a compartment under the bus and if it rains then it gets absolutely soaked. I have on about 20 occassions hired taxis to take me from Bangkok to Pattaya and back to Bangkok. On my last trip I took the Bus from Pattaya to Ekammi with the intention of then getting the Skytrain from there to the Station closest to th Majestic Grande. I left the Sabai Inn at 12.45pm in a taxi(bahtbus). Arrived at the Bus Station 10 minutes later bought my ticket(110 baht) but the 1.10pm Bus was full so ended up on the 1.30pm. Journey was slow and the Bus made a couple of 5 minute stops for no obvious reason. It also took a detour thru a graveyard about halfway there in an effort to beat the traffic. It rained quite heavily on the way there. I got to Ekammi at about 3.50pm. I collected my bag from underneath and it was soaked through. I decided at that point I didnt want to be trailing soaking wet luggage along the road and up the stairs to the Sky Train Station and opted for a Taxi. My Hotel, I think, would have been less than two miles away along Sukhumvit. It took the taxi 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete that journey and it was never out of first gear. I got to my Hotel at 5.25pm 4 hours 40 minutes after leaving the Sabai. I will never again travel by bus especially when you have guys like Mr. Toom offering a good door to door service at 1200 baht and delivering you safe and sound in something like 2 hours.

Sabai Inn, Soi.2. At 700 baht for a standard room it is very hard to beat. IMHO it has a great location and you can use the pool across the road at the Sabai Lodge

The Sabai is currently offering a standard room at 700 baht. That is great value. The Hotel is good but try and make sure you get an outside facing room. IMHO it is also in a great location. Doesnt have a pool but you can use the on across the road at the Sabai Lodge

It had to happen sometime, unfortunate if you are the one who was let down. It will be interesting to see how he responds to this. If it becomes a habit then he will disappear as quickly as he arrived. Just look at Alex the driver...nobody ever mentions him now. However, the jury is still out on Mr. Toom, Gentlemangeoff, bad start to your trip but I'm sure it will recover and you will have a great time. BTW I've got him booked next week to pick me up at the airport. I will let you know how it goes

Wasanna my friend, . You have my two votes and I wish you well in both competitions. Now....if you have anything else that requires my help please feel free to PM me. -
Somewhat harsh I would say. NHS doctors and nurses performed miracles in keeping my mother alive against all odds over a period of five months. She eventaually made as a full a recovery as one could hope for considering her age.

Is Pattaya a really big place to walk around?
conley replied to Carragher's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Soi7/8 is pretty much Central Pattaya. From there you could walk to Walking Street in about 15minutes & 15 minutes to the bars of Soi2/3 area. 7/8 are also very well served by the Baht buses and gettin around the beach area from there is easy. Pattaya however, extends quite a bit back from the beach and has bars almost everywhere although the areas we are refering to are the more celebrated areas for tourists. Walking Street in full flow is a shock to the system on you first visit. You will never have seen anything like it previously. In the evening it is closed to traffic. It is full of beer bars, go go bars, eating places, discos, street vendors, tailors and of course people of all nationalites. There are a couple of bars that view onto the street and I have spent many times sipping my beer watching the world go by. It can be hugely entertaining. It is probably about 1km in length from one end to the other. -
Pieman, You pretty much beat me to it. So to be different, and I know I dont have to be, here is my choices. Tiger Woods & Ernie Els Jason Gore & Chris Di Marco. I arrive in Pattaya on the 14th May so will hand over my 500Baht that night.

I have just booked a standard room in the Sabai Inn for 700 Baht a night. Great value for money and in my opinion a great location. It doesnt have a swimming pool but you can use the one straight across the road at the Sabai Lodge.
