  1. Good catch Villa. This will be blasted from every beer bar and I can just see the grinding up on the pole. Goodbye Hotel California
  2. I've found that it's best (in the USA anyway) to use Kayak, Hipmunk, Travelocity, etc to get an idea of who has cheaper flights and then check those individual airline's websites as they seem to be a bit cheaper purchasing directly.
  3. It kills young handsome studlie types such as yourself as well as the old geezers. Besides, when your not on the plane you can use those socks to tie up your manlady friends. :chogdee
  4. Do those stupid leg stretches if you are not walking about the cabin. You don't want to die. From Harvard Medical School Family Health Guide: Reducing Your Risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis During Airline Travel Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), recently featured in the news as "economy class syndrome," is the formation of a blood clot in the deep veins of the legs while sitting — particularly in the cramped seats of an airplane (be it economy class or first class), car, bus, or train — for long periods. You move less in tight quarters, causing circulation to decrease and allowing blood to coll
  5. Now that's what I call a happy ending Nice to see folk post things that go beyond the sad stereotypical bullshit about Thais, bar owners, etc. Bad things happen and good things happen.
  6. I think your memory is not serving you correctly BigD. All the United flights to NRT from JFK stop in ORD or SFO, or... etc. If seat back entertainment is important, forget United unless you travel something other than economy. Yes, we know BigD always gets an upgrade from Philly to wherever cuz he is elite
  7. More expensive to fly Continental out of EWR to BKK in my experience. Continental to HKG is reasonable. Could always get an Air Asia flight BKK - HKG ...IF the timing works. Also, Continental has decent in flight entertainment, as apposed to some other US carriers from the east coast to Asia.
  8. All Nippon Air runs good specials, but otherwise will be an expensive alternative. Korean Air often have reasonable prices, but check the layovers in Korea as they can be long. Cathay was mentioned above. Traveling the Pacific route will might get you the best price, but who the fuck knows. Honestly, you probably won't find any real secret deals by asking the question here. Since you didn't offer an actual departure date it makes it even more complicated. If I where you I would start scouring the internet for a deal. Hipmunk.com is my new favorite flight search. Kayak
  9. Sailboat charters are available. Plenty of cabin space down below I've done the overnight thing, it was great. Island hopping, cooking dinner aboard and enjoying some evening entertainment at anchor If you can't sail, just motor...
  10. They will make house calls to the RG. Not a big selection last time I looked in but it's convenient if you are staying across the street.
  11. I'm not picking and argument. Not in the slightest. Sorry if my post seemed hostile, that was not my intention. I only mentioned the location in case someone else was reading/searching the post for general information on UTP. I know it's apples and oranges in this case, but, UTP is an easy alternative to BKK in some cases.
  12. errrrrr... Did they move the airport? I would say that U-Tapao is 40 - 50 minutes from Walking St. I know Walking St is not the only part of Pattaya but most of us stay within a few minutes of it... I guess... I'm not arguing that flying U-Tapao to Phuket to Manila (or whatever) is a good idea ....I'm just saying...
  13. IF AIRLINES SOLD PAINT . . . Customer: Hi. How much is your paint? Clerk: Well, sir, that all depends on quite a lot of things. Customer: Can you give me a guess? Is there an average price? Clerk: Our lowest price is $12 a gallon, and we have 60 different prices up to $200 a gallon. Customer: What's the difference in the paint? Clerk: Oh, there isn't any difference; it's all the same paint. Customer: Well, then I'd like some of that $12 paint. Clerk: When do you intend to use the paint? Customer: I want to paint tomorrow. It's my day off. Clerk: Sir, th
  14. Black Canyon Coffee is pretty darn good. One in Central Festival I think.
  15. ...Seven years in Pattaya and... It's the time served that is the key to your success. If I lived in Pattaya and gave my body time to adjust to the new (to me) microorganisms in the water then I should not have any problems either. It's very possible that you had some mild symptoms at the start of your stay, you may have even blamed it on something you ate, etc.
  16. I digress. They know it. It's a fact. Just ask them.
  17. Bullshit Joe. Most Europeans and Britopeans know that baseball is only ever played in The States, by Septics, full stop.
  18. If saving you money means paying for a cell phone connection instead of buying internet access from a local distributor, then yes. In my case, I need both. My threeeeee geeeeee coverage is not even close to what my cable internet (cable internet, for me, is lightning fucking fast) connects at. 3G is great....for a cell phone.... and I mean great, for a cell phone... Captain Kirk would be over the moon, so would Mr. Spock. However, I, Me, am used to the click and play that Comcast provides me through the cable lines. There is no comparison, but, I'm not on a budget. Yes, if I had
  19. Does one have to have done the deed in her country of origin?
  20. Good idea. Any reason why that would not work for you? The Residence Garden has large two bedroom suites. You could see if they have an one bedroom next to a two bedroom...
  21. Third hand information so take it for what it's worth... Talked to a couple that stayed there. They said the place incredible, but, the location really sucks.
