I think this CHOON will do well in Patts
Sailfast replied to villayouth's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Good catch Villa. This will be blasted from every beer bar and I can just see the grinding up on the pole. Goodbye Hotel California -
I've found that it's best (in the USA anyway) to use Kayak, Hipmunk, Travelocity, etc to get an idea of who has cheaper flights and then check those individual airline's websites as they seem to be a bit cheaper purchasing directly.

Do those stupid leg stretches if you are not walking about the cabin. You don't want to die. From Harvard Medical School Family Health Guide: Reducing Your Risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis During Airline Travel Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), recently featured in the news as "economy class syndrome," is the formation of a blood clot in the deep veins of the legs while sitting — particularly in the cramped seats of an airplane (be it economy class or first class), car, bus, or train — for long periods. You move less in tight quarters, causing circulation to decrease and allowing blood to collect and form a clot. The blood clot may cause pain and swelling in the legs. Serious, even fatal complications can occur if the blood clot breaks loose in the blood stream and travels to the heart or lungs. Older people, and those who are obese or have a family history of DVT tend to be at the highest risk. While a blood clot can result from a number of causes, some studies suggest an association between blood clots and airplane travel. Many doctors believe this connection is simply a result of being unable to move around, and not from sitting in economy class seats or in an airplane, per se. However, it is possible that pressurized air and dehydration may also play a role in the connection between air travel and blood clots. Many airlines have already begun to address this health issue by preparing warning pamphlets for their passengers, including articles in their in-flight magazines, posting notices on their websites, or creating in-flight videos offering exercises aimed at prevention. A member of the parliament in Australia has even called for treadmills to be installed in airplanes that carry passengers for six or more hours. While treadmills may or may not appear on airplanes in the near future, you can address this issue on your next lengthy flight by taking a few simple measures to help prevent blood clotting. Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing during the flight. Eat a small meal and drink plenty of fluids to help increase blood circulation. Avoid alcohol and caffeine, as these contribute to dehydration. Do not cross your legs while seated and make sure you adjust your position every half hour. You may want to wear elastic support hose to increase circulation in your legs. Most importantly, try to walk up and down the aisle at least once an hour. Even standing in front of your seat and gently shaking out your legs or slowly rising up on your toes can help. If you can’t get out of your seat, you can do the following exercises in your seat to increase blood circulation. Perform each exercise for 15 seconds, once an hour. Ankle rotations: Draw a circle with your toes, rotating clockwise and then counterclockwise with both feet. Foot pumps: Slowly alternate between flexing and pointing your toes. Leg lifts: With your knee bent, lift your leg up off the seat and hold for a few seconds. Alternate legs. Head and shoulder rotations: Gently roll your head clockwise and then counterclockwise, keeping your shoulders relaxed. Then gently roll your shoulders forwards and backwards. Toe reach: Slowly bend forward and extend your arms down towards your toes and then gently sit back up. People who are at high risk for blood clotting due to other conditions should speak with their physician for additional advice before traveling. Studies do not agree on how long a flight needs to be to pose a risk of blood clotting. A few studies even suggest that there is no association between blood clots and air travel. Clearly, more research is necessary. However, while we wait for a definitive answer to these questions, heeding these simple instructions may help prevent problems.

Sailfast replied to THE DRUNKEN DUCK's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Now that's what I call a happy ending Nice to see folk post things that go beyond the sad stereotypical bullshit about Thais, bar owners, etc. Bad things happen and good things happen. -
I think your memory is not serving you correctly BigD. All the United flights to NRT from JFK stop in ORD or SFO, or... etc. If seat back entertainment is important, forget United unless you travel something other than economy. Yes, we know BigD always gets an upgrade from Philly to wherever cuz he is elite

More expensive to fly Continental out of EWR to BKK in my experience. Continental to HKG is reasonable. Could always get an Air Asia flight BKK - HKG ...IF the timing works. Also, Continental has decent in flight entertainment, as apposed to some other US carriers from the east coast to Asia.

All Nippon Air runs good specials, but otherwise will be an expensive alternative. Korean Air often have reasonable prices, but check the layovers in Korea as they can be long. Cathay was mentioned above. Traveling the Pacific route will might get you the best price, but who the fuck knows. Honestly, you probably won't find any real secret deals by asking the question here. Since you didn't offer an actual departure date it makes it even more complicated. If I where you I would start scouring the internet for a deal. Hipmunk.com is my new favorite flight search. Kayak.com is also easy. Find a flight you like then go to the airlines website and price it there, it's often cheapest that way. Some people I know still go through NYC brick and mortar travel agents and they get good deals, but they are more interested in the cheapest flight than paying a bit more for a short layover or a better airline. If he is in NY I would advice him to ask his Chinese friends where they get their tickets. They will direct him to one of those agents. YMMV.

Massage opposite Res Gardens

They will make house calls to the RG. Not a big selection last time I looked in but it's convenient if you are staying across the street. -
I'm not picking and argument. Not in the slightest. Sorry if my post seemed hostile, that was not my intention. I only mentioned the location in case someone else was reading/searching the post for general information on UTP. I know it's apples and oranges in this case, but, UTP is an easy alternative to BKK in some cases.

errrrrr... Did they move the airport? I would say that U-Tapao is 40 - 50 minutes from Walking St. I know Walking St is not the only part of Pattaya but most of us stay within a few minutes of it... I guess... I'm not arguing that flying U-Tapao to Phuket to Manila (or whatever) is a good idea ....I'm just saying...

IF AIRLINES SOLD PAINT . . . Customer: Hi. How much is your paint? Clerk: Well, sir, that all depends on quite a lot of things. Customer: Can you give me a guess? Is there an average price? Clerk: Our lowest price is $12 a gallon, and we have 60 different prices up to $200 a gallon. Customer: What's the difference in the paint? Clerk: Oh, there isn't any difference; it's all the same paint. Customer: Well, then I'd like some of that $12 paint. Clerk: When do you intend to use the paint? Customer: I want to paint tomorrow. It's my day off. Clerk: Sir, the paint for tomorrow is the $200 paint. Customer: When would I have to paint to get the $12 paint? Clerk: You would have to start very late at night in about 3 weeks. But you will have to agree to start painting before Friday of that week and continue painting until at least Sunday. Customer: You've got to be *&%^#@* kidding! Clerk: I'll check and see if we have any paint available. Customer: You have shelves FULL of paint! I can see it! Clerk: But it doesn't mean that we have paint available. We sell only a certain number of gallons on any given weekend. Oh, and by the way, the price per gallon just went to $16. We don't have any more $12 paint. Customer: The price went up as we were talking? Clerk: Yes, sir. We change the prices and rules hundreds of times a day, and since you haven't actually walked out of the store with your paint yet, we just decided to change. I suggest you purchase your paint as soon as possible. How many gallons do you want? Customer: Well, maybe five gallons. Make that six, so I'll have enough. Clerk: Oh no, sir, you can't do that. If you buy paint and don't use it, there are penalties and possible confiscation of the paint you already have. Customer: WHAT? Clerk: We can sell enough paint to do your kitchen, bathroom, hall and north bedroom, but if you stop painting before you do the bedroom, you will lose your remaining gallons of paint. Customer: What does it matter whether I use all the paint? I already paid you for it! Clerk: We make plans based upon the idea that all our paint is used, every drop. If you don't, it causes us all sorts of problems. Customer: This is crazy!! I suppose something terrible happens if I don't keep painting until after Saturday night! Clerk: Oh yes! Every gallon you bought automatically becomes the $200 paint. Customer: But what are all these, "Paint on sale from $10 a liter" signs? Clerk: Well that's for our budget paint. It only comes in half- gallons. One $5 half-gallon will do half a room. The second half- gallon to complete the room is $20. None of the cans have labels, some are empty and there are no refunds, even on the empty cans. Customer: To hell with this! I'll buy what I need somewhere else! Clerk: I don't think so, sir. You may be able to buy paint for your bathroom and bedrooms, and your kitchen and dining room from someone else, but you won't be able to paint your connecting hall and stairway from anyone but us. And I should point out, sir, that if you paint in only one direction, it will be $300 a gallon. Customer: I thought your most expensive paint was $200! Clerk: That's if you paint around the room to the point at which you started. A hallway is different. Customer: And if I buy $200 paint for the hall, but only paint in one direction, you'll confiscate the remaining paint. Clerk: No, we'll charge you an extra use fee plus the difference on your next gallon of paint. But I believe you're getting it now, sir. Customer: You're insane! Clerk: Thanks for painting with United.

...Seven years in Pattaya and... It's the time served that is the key to your success. If I lived in Pattaya and gave my body time to adjust to the new (to me) microorganisms in the water then I should not have any problems either. It's very possible that you had some mild symptoms at the start of your stay, you may have even blamed it on something you ate, etc.

I digress. They know it. It's a fact. Just ask them.

Bullshit Joe. Most Europeans and Britopeans know that baseball is only ever played in The States, by Septics, full stop.

If saving you money means paying for a cell phone connection instead of buying internet access from a local distributor, then yes. In my case, I need both. My threeeeee geeeeee coverage is not even close to what my cable internet (cable internet, for me, is lightning fucking fast) connects at. 3G is great....for a cell phone.... and I mean great, for a cell phone... Captain Kirk would be over the moon, so would Mr. Spock. However, I, Me, am used to the click and play that Comcast provides me through the cable lines. There is no comparison, but, I'm not on a budget. Yes, if I had to, I could wait 40 seconds for a stream.

3br Suite, Penthouse, or a villa in Pattaya new WS

Good idea. Any reason why that would not work for you? The Residence Garden has large two bedroom suites. You could see if they have an one bedroom next to a two bedroom... -

Third hand information so take it for what it's worth... Talked to a couple that stayed there. They said the place incredible, but, the location really sucks.
