Scams like this damages tourism and genuine businesses.

Our webiste has been updated and now provides assistance for those cheated with the fake discount card, about how to claim refund. The legal fundament of this claim is that the cards are sold to be valid for up to 10 years, and the claimed services have not been provided (and will not be provided becuase are inexistent).

i guess you are just trying to make a personal vendetta here, at least that's how your site comes along? oh, and I might add that in thailand there is of course a public prosecuter - you should keep your website at least stick to the facts.

any FACTS to support your claims? I mean besides emails copied into a website which is about useless as evidence as it is easily manipulated?

the best example is the following Mail that you copied into your website:

Dear Mike.

As requested I give you some more helpful info. The general way to estimate the companies value, is the profit form the last three years (12) plus the inventory. The present value of PLC is 2.8m. Furthermore I have listed, HOW TO MAKE MONEY WITH THIS CONCEPT(13) . Please read the attachment. The current rental fee is 14.000THB. The monthly staff salary is 20.000THB (webmaster & secretary)(14) . The sales persons are receiving monthly commissions. The is no health insurance to be paid, as there less than 7 persons employed.

Please clarify under which kind of conditions the deposit should be refunded. The deposit should be in THB. The balance can be transferred to an oversea account in $ or Euro(15) .

If your are requesting more info please let me know.

Oh, BTW - my name is not Uwe

But if you are accusing people of things like you do on your site, provide some facts, I saw not a single hard fact on anything there, just a good story. If it's true or not, who knows, but for sure you did nto show the least bit of evidence.

So if anyone has been cheated by this guy, let us hear it, would be really interesting. I might add that I was suspicious about this fan card ever since i first saw it on the net, but i would not dare to make such accusitions without providing some facts to see.

Looks to me like somebody was pissed enough about Pattayalivecam scam to make a website about it.

I like to remember my dear departed Mother's favorite saying!

"Don't believe anything you read and only half of what you see!"

Has made me a bit cynical but I don't fall for scams. Let's see now how much was it that my TG needs this week?

Cheers

I wonder why I did not see www.thaitraveltips.com on that 1 page site :3some

ting_tong,

could you provide some more info on the subject? :eyecrazy

To the topic: though the entire site www.pattayascam.com looks like a 'flaming flame', it could [usefully and positively :3some ] motivate some of the 'wanna-be business-guys' out there to reconsider their "great" investment plans... :gulp :beer

Well, can’t say it is all the Pattayalivecam-thing is a scam, because I don’t know that for sure. But it certainly looks like it.

I took a look at the site and thought: “this looks interesting”!

Ok, I register and subscribe for the Gold-Card.

I have my member# now, so I can start to order things with a discount. :D Forget it! 2guns

First thing I try, a discount of whatever% on a lomo from the airport to PTTY.

I enter all the info, result:

“THIS SERVICE IS TEMPORARILY OUT OF ORDER” :grin-jump

Ok, maybe I can try that later.

Next thing I try:

“THIS SERVICE IS TEMPORARILY OUT OF ORDER”

I get suspicious and try a third item:

“THIS SERVICE IS TEMPORARILY OUT OF ORDER” :livid

After this irritating announcement you get re-directed to a page from the Webmaster where he explains his wife died in a car-accident. Really sad story if it is true…but I doubt it!

Even if it is true, it’s no reason to rob people!

They let you pay for the Gold-Card and after you did so, the services you want to use seem not to be working.

I guess it’s a scam

I know, I should have been more careful, ask you guys first about it…Well, I didn’t.

I’m not even IN Pattaya and I’l already framed. :D

amphora,

As someone pointed out on another thread recently, it is easy for you to get your money back.

Just telephone your credit card company and tell them that you were not provided with the services that you paid for. They will refund your money and charge back to the con artist. Only if he can prove that you are being untruthful (and he can't) will he get the money back and you charged again.

Cheers

ting tong,

i also am pretty sure that the thaitraveltips stuff is very dubious - but interestingly, stickman wrote about this bars in hist last weekly column and has a banner on this site. stickman is not s stupid newbie so maybe we are wrong on this? i was surprised to read about this bar becuase i was sure they are a big time scam with their membership - well, could still be the case though.

amphora,

thanks for sharing this, not many people would admit openly that they got cheated - i would suggest you

1) inform your credit card company and cancle the payment

2) you report it to your local police as well as online to the thai police (even if it does not trigger any action - at least you have tried

3) write an email to some of the businesses who are offered with discounts as they sure don't like to associated with a scam

Last Year while in Pattaya I stumbled over this site. Was not really excited, maybe I smelled the rat, don't know.

Anyway, after being home in Europe for some Days, I visited pattayalivecam again, this time they offered an incredible cheap price for the Royal Garden Marriott, somewhere around 1000 Bt. That made me interested. After some reading the associated fine-print on this Offer it turned out that the prices was valid through August 31st only, but I can swear that on August 29 while still in Pattaya I did not see this offer, only in the very first Days in September!

Name it like you will, this site is a scam.

I agree after doing some research myself. My initial reply in this thread was triggered by teh strange emails on the pattayascam site - where in the header the mail was addressed to mike and in the mail itlself it was obvious that it was from mike to uwe. also no facts have been presented there, only the personal opinion of the person who did it.

After contacting 15 business (hotels and others) - it looks like some have never heard of this site, others have allrady reported it to the police. i wrote some emails bit i got no reply from any business as to the status of their relationship to this site.

For me, that is enough prove but i stick to my original post, the pattayascam site did not provide facts...and they faked the emails on their site.

Anyway, thanks again to amphora to share his experience and maybe save a few people from being cheated by this person.

Please see the updated site with all the scams operated by Peter Geister.

http://www.pattyascam.com

There is there enough evidence to convince a blind.......regards

Yeah well that was informative, tells me website can not be found> Now that is what you call plenty of evidence, haha!!!

Too excited...Kev, just with a little of imagination you can guess that it was a typing mistake...sorry mate..your joke is valid anyway

See

http://www.pattayascam.com (sure is ok now!)

I am surprised that cybesr1b still believe that there is not factual evidence in this website.

Apart of the Tip Top scam, the Pattayalivecam site provided false names. None of the people named on it as operators are real. Peter Geister hides his name with evident reasons. He does not want to be identified with it.

Peter Geister is also facing formal criminal charges from on of the people he frauded.

In addition we have received mails from two unhappy customers (from Europe) already discussing the matter with the Thai Police. We will see how far we can get.

Cibers1b how can we prove to you that the e-mails in the website are reals and not faked?. Please tell me and we happily will provide you any information you ask.

What it was faked was the person interested in purchasing the pattayalivecam website. We were the ones sending the email to Uwe (Peter Geister himself) to make him to name Peter Geister as the owner of the business. And he did it finally.

The scam and the lies are so evident that we do not need to fake any information to the public. It is not in the interest of our credibility anyway.

Hi fellas

Long time since my last post but there is an interesting link that is an old one but still valid and gives some substance to the fact this may well be a case of sour grapes by some people intent on destroying the reputation of this guy or the website owner.

Pattaya cam info

It is about the history of pattayalivecam.com and the old cam links used to go direct after the download of some javascript.some of them may be cached in google, such as the cam at Lobster pot on Walking street, Tonys cams and the 2x ptty2 cams.Personally I'm not forming an opinion, just that would you build up a site for 7 years just to scam people?.There is also a german site featuring pics from 2001 that was a livecam party, where a group of guys went to each cam for an hour and were filmed. If I find the link I'll post.

Regards

Butch

Sorry to hop in, but:

The headers of the Emails published in the first Edition of this Page are definitely faked. The information relevant to see this is in German, so maybe some people get it.

This hass seemingly been corrected since September.

As Cybers pointed out in his example:

-----Urspr|ngliche Nachricht-----

Dear Mike.

.....

Regards

UWE

The header Information clearly states this is a mail from Michael Brown to info@pattayalivecam.com, but the text of the message is a message from "Uwe" (Pattayalivecam probably) to Michael Brown.

So this was definitely faked. The factthat it has since been corrected without any mention does not lead to a higher grade of autheticity, either.

I personally do believe that pattayalivecam is a more than doubtful business, but the facts presented on the scam page are rather thin. Emails that were obviously tempered with, lots of stories and accusations without real evidence, and a list of assets of the company with valuations that don't look too realistic, but hey, If I want to sell a company I have all rights to declare the value of the Assets in the way I favor. The buyer will make his offer based on his valuations, and then it's either a deal or not.
