Another Eastinny & Soi 13 update

Recommended Posts

While getting a little exercise in this morning I noticed another Eastinny property on Soi 10 called Eastinny residence.

Construction update for those of you who stay on Soi 13. Haven project finished, project between Ma Maison and Golden Grab is still on the ground floor, condo project is nearing completion on the exterior and the project next to the AA Residence has finished with the demolition of the old bars and removal of the debris. Right now I wouldn't be afraid of staying there, however I'm a heavy sleeper and rise early. My only concern would be if they began pile driving on the project next to the AA.

You have got to be joking the noise today on Soi 13 is very bad, hammer drills, shit shifting ,and White house condo banging could hardly eat breakfast in Lek for noise.

Avoid Soi 13 at all costs for the next few months.

But the Sandy Spring is no where near the Lek or the AA.

Sandy Spring to Lek 35 secs how much nearer can you get.

The Lek is on the corner of Second rd and Soi 13, the sandy Spring is half way down Soi 13.

We've been through all this before. I think most of this noise at the SS stuff is just a windup. I hope you all stay away so those of us who like the place can easily get reservations!

OK, my 2 stangs as well.

Been through Soi 13 three times since Sunday. Maison site was quiet one day, the other day they were moving those metal things, 1 inch thick wire things they use in the concrete. Help, my English. That made some noise. Little noise from the AA site, but of course, this will be worst area in the future. But my guess, it will be build faster than hell. The AA owner got the money and friends so the buillding will be up in X months, me think.

Soi 3-4. The Northshore building was very noisy two days in a row, today quiet.

They have also teared down La Gritta at Amari, building something now, pilars on the way down. I'm at Dusit but can't hear a thing. Don't know how soundproof the Amari windows are.

The music festival is worse than all this... aah. Only hope Tata Young will stay at Dusit so I get that as a bonus. Sexy Naughty Bitchy me...

Will give another report if something happens, but it is worthless. It changes from day to day. The only reason I would avoid a place, is when the pilars (pillars?) are on the way down, AND when they clear the place before that (jackhammers).

the car park for lek hotel is on soi13 next to AA residence ,you get some noise

when you are in the lek pool.

I stayed in SS in october NOT a sea view but a room overlookin soi 13

the noise from the jackhammers on the site next to ma maison was intolerable

for 5 days.

When i saw and heard them again and the were going for at least 3 days i was away

Its noisy just from the street in the lek by the way.

Now 20.00, first night of the Music festival. If anyone hope to have an early night, forget it. Holy Marcaroni that bass. Off to dinner anyway, no time for sleep.

Have to agree with Clubman for once, most of February and up till 19th this month when I left, there was quite a bit of noise in Sandy Spring from the site between Ma Masion and Golden Crab. This in the seaview rooms, I guess in the ones facing Soi 13 it must have been hell.

They are using air preasure drills or whatever you call them, and they are damn load. Also last few days quite a bit of large machinery and sement trucks there.

Maybe just a wild guess, but this will in not to long go to be just normal bulding noise and probably not be to bad, but it will probably last 3 to 5 months before finished.

I didn't notice to much down by the new condo next to Dynasty. But when they start building the extention to the AA Recidence Hotel, there will be quite a bit of noice again. I would guess that pile driving will be used there.....

As for Sandy itself, the rooms starts to get a bit worn now, and it is barley 2 years old.... but still better than many. If you like to stay there, order in good time, or you will have little chance in getting a room. Forget about a walkin room there.

Be very glad you not live in Soi 6, close to the big stage.... Talk about noise... I was in for a shorty on Staurday, and had to change rythem several times :D

Yesterday 16.00. New AA site dead, everything is cleared there. Next will be when the pilars are going down. Crab/Maison had a bit of noice but nothing to write home about and next to Dynasty was fine.. Jackhammers at Northshore is the worst at the moment, and the new Amari wing, or whatever it is. They must have problems at Amari, they seem to work every second day there.

Oh, forgot. The new View Talay site. Quiet yesterday. Think they are done with the noice, only need to get all the old concrete away. Then the noice could start. Can't remember any hotels nearby, it's around Bayview.

Just like anyone care... Yesterday, 16.30.

Dynasty site, noise, rest of the street dead.

Amari, this morning, they worked for one hour, then nothing. Can't hear them from Dusit anyway. I can hear the soi 4 building from my balcony, still the worst place I think. The ships in Soi 4 must be hell, but the chinese leave early in the morning I guess.

Nothing happens at the two building sites down around Soi 8-9-10. They clear away concrete at one of the site but are done with with jackhammers.

Got a friend who checked into Inn House yesterday but fail to talk to him yesterday. He can probably give more "boring" reports about this...

"This has been another boring report from Dingo, for flb, Pattaya, Thailand"

(always wanted to work for cnn or bbc)

So I was obviously not the only one thinking the air con in Sandy Spring has become quite loud lately? In my room it was down right noisy

And the TV reception isn't much to write home about.... Very veak signal. And have the dropped some channels? No football (English or Champion League), and no decent news channels anymore. Only the Fox News joke....

What would be anyone's best guess as to the noise situation the first week of May? I'm considering a room at Tim's Bar Beer on Soi 12, AA Residence, Sandy Springs and Dynasty, with a preference for Tim's. The normal recommendation there is to get a room at the back, but maybe not a good idea right now? I'm a light sleep when sober, which won't happen too often, but...

I spoke to the boss at Ma Maison yesterday as I'm staying there this coming weekend. Apparently the construction between here and the Golden Crab 2 doors up is, as some posters have reported - bad for a few days and then quiet for a few.

To orientate those not familar with Soi 13, Ma Maison is opposite the Haven, about 40m inland from Beach Rd, and therefore definately at one end of this Soi. The Lek and Dynasty are at the 2nd road end, about 100-150 metres further inland. So it's the number of construction projects happening together in this street that make it all a bit of a lottery.

Too bad, as I've always found Soi 13 an excellent part of town to stay in, and have lodged in 5 of the places here. (As I said, I'm planning to stay at Ma Maison this weekend, but if the piledrivers bounce me out of bed - it'll be up stumps :beer )

One thing about Pattaya - whatever your budget, there's no shortage of room choice at most times of the year.

Cheers, Lemons

Also booked a mini-bus too go to bangkok, paid. it just did not show up.

a bummer if you want to catch a plane.

I stayed at areca lodge because of the noise on soi 13 [always my first choice]

reccomend it booked and payed on line 960-980 baht no problem.
