It looks like I may be able to join you guys this year. I try to come in Nov around the American holiday (Thanksgiving) but this year a holiday trip would mean missing two home games for my Football team.... so I just sent off an email to my travel agent and should be in Pattaya for the first week of November.

PS: My golf game is crap so count my score towards the Americans Team's handicap :beer

And that is ON the tee box, while I am trying to hit my tee ball, with 50 baht/stroke bet with Doggie and Pieman (or maybe hypothetical bet, as neither paid up :beer ).

It is very distracting during a swing when listening to "Steve rak Mok" and wet kiss noises. 2guns

Congratulations, Steve - I'm sure you two will be very happy together. When do you plan on getting married? Are you planning on living in Thailand or Australia?

Doggie, if you're absolutely desperate for players, I could perhaps be persuaded to play my first game of golf in about 25 years. My game can't be much worse than it was all those years ago, though my expert touch on the greens will doubtless have deserted me. The one and only time I played the Old Course, I almost holed from just off the putting surface on the 5th. Fortunately, my putt hit the pin otherwise it would have gone at least 10 feet past :nod and then on the 8th, I was on the putting surface but some 90 feet or so away from the pin. I got down in 2, whereas my playing partners both of whom were much nearer 3 putted. :D

We will be pleased to have you both play in the event. Don't worry about how well you play - nobody can be worse than Ben!

Hope you can confirm nearer the date.

Doggie, you haven't seen me play! :nod I have at least once managed to finish FURTHER from the hole after my tee shot! All I did was to hit the ball with the toe of the club, the ball went right, hit the tee marker and went backwards! I was using something like an 8 iron at the time!

Big Kev was not joking about his golf. I was sitting in my buggy to the side and behind his ball. He still managed to hit me in the back! I don't know how the hell he managed that shot but I have the scars to prove it!

Lokk slike being a great turnout this year. It is one of the best 2 weeks in Pattaya when all the crew for the RideHer are in town. Don't miss it!

Sounds like a good one for What happened next? on Question of Sport :D I did once hit a 3 wood about 100 yards towards the hole before the wind blew it back 50 yards towards me .

A few holes later all four of us were hitting 3- irons at the shortest hole on the course at a mere 130 yards - such was the strength of the wind!

Alan,

I am afraid that I am unable to answer your questions at this point in time.

As you would probably be aware the dowry asking price by Thai families for their virgin daughters is extremely high.

As a means of financing this payment we have approached the world press and television moguls offering exclusive rights to the event. Unfortunately their response to date has been a little disappointing but we believe this is because all of their resources were tied up with the Royal event that took place in your neck of the woods last week. However, we expect the mega baht offers to come rolling in shortly and once these contracts are in place further details will be forthcoming.

I will let Pieman post a response to your enquiry about Kittens.

I very much hope so and it would be nice to have the Kittens Open later in the week after the RideHer Cup. I will be in Pattaya from 25th April so I am planning to discuss this with the guys at Kittens.

Doggie,

Just caught up with this thread after a Songkran enforced absence. :eyecrazy

Firstly, count me in for the Rideher - sounds like there could be quite a crowd this year which is great news. Are you going to bring "son of Lobin" ? Perhaps his girlfriend might be a good idea, it could lead to some interesting forfeits at the party for shortest drive, most balls in the water etc etc. :beer :beer

As for the Kittens open, I'm sure we will be repeating it but things are a bit up in the air on that front at the moment - more on that when you hit town at the weekend.

Cheers

Pie

P.S. Steve - your fiancee was in good spirits last night as she eagerly awaits your return. She looked a little thirsty though so, knowing that you wouldn't want the poor girl in a distressed state, I suggested she just order what she wanted and keep the check bin behind the bar for when you get here. Hope I did the right thing.... :eyecrazy :beer

As doggie has his work cut out with the big show and trying to get his arse over here I thought it would be nice to help him out and get the players name list going.

We also have an air conditioned (working) coach arranged and a driver who has driven one before. LOL.

As the edit facility has been confiscated after an hour I will add it newly each time I see another player joining us.

If I'm to play, I'll need to hire/borrow/steal some clubs as well as get in a practice hole or two

Alan, that's fine mate, most players are obliged to sneak in at least 2-3 holes of solid practice before the round, often in their hotel room or the baht bus. :D :D :D

I might not be able to make it this year :crying, will keep you posted.

I would heartily recommend it to anyone considering playing of any handicap, we had a lot of fun last year.

Ok Dungie and error is corrected. LOL.

Nice and sweltering round today at Phoenix with the course in much better condition after a bit of rain. Familiar faces like Deuce, Callum and Pieman are back in town. Oh fuck my liver is suffering already.

Hi Everyone,

This year The Ca$h Cow and I will not be able to play in the RideHer Cup. She is needed at her job and can not get the time off that early in November.

We will be in Pattaya again this year but will not make it until the end of :beer November. :puke However, the good news is that we will be staying until Feburary of 2006.

My wife talked her boss and the company into letting her take her vacations back to back at the end of this year and the beginning of next year. :beer At least we will be able to see a little more of LOS, Thailand on this trip.

I know that Team USA will prevail this year so do not plan on Team Europe to run off with it as they may be thinking. We do have some great players coming in from the USA and other sources to insure the winning of The Little Man and His Bitch. . . RideHer Cup Trophy.

Hope everyone has a great time and wish we could be there for the MAJOR event of the year. Maybe next year we will make it?

Just 196 Days 10 Hours 25 Minuter 11 Seconds Then Wheels-Up and Off To LOS, Thailand. . . But Who's Counting?

Regards,

:beer

Hi FF29

I am really sorry that you and the cash cow will not be able to play this year. However, I hope I will be able to renew acquaintances sometime during your December to January long stay programme.

Nice to see the numbers growing. It would be great if we could get up to 36 players this year. I am hoping that Ben can get in touch with the non-board members that played last year. They did say that they would be returning for the event.

There is a possibility that I will have one golf professional playing for each team. I have verbal acceptances from one US pro and one UK pro so that would make an intereresting match-up.

I have started a new thread with some proposals for a 2 week programme built around the RideHer Cup. Last year's road trip to Kanchanaburi was a big success so we have something more ambitious planned for 2005.

Please keep the entries coming in. I am back in the UK now so I have less distractions to prevent me from monitoring the board!

Cheers.

  • 2 weeks later...

We have booked the tee times for the RideHer Cup.

The venue is Phoenix and the first tee time will be 11.12 am. I decided on a nice civilised start time in order to favour the European team. The USA has benefitted from far too many early starts!

In truth, Phoenix gets busy early morning so that's the best we could do.

This means we should be able to depart Pattaya at no later than 10am - it is only 40 minutes to Phoenix unless we use the same bus and driver that Ben booked last year. No chance!

I have also found a good bus with air conditioning that actually works!

The timings should mean that the last group will finish no later than 5pm so I will plan to have the bus leave at 6 returning to Pattaya around 6.45. Plenty of time for shower, shit and shave and then we will have the food delivered to the bar around 8.30 if that's OK with Ben.

All in favour?????

I will be meeting the manager of the course next month to organise things. Do you want any food at the course or will you all be happy to get back after the golf and wait for grub at FLB? My vote is to get off our mark when the last group has finished.

Please let me know. I will also need to know any favourite caddy numbers nearer the time so that I can book them up. Hands off my one!

Doggie,

Sounds like a great plan to me. I can certainly live without food till the evening and thank god for a different bus.

Hi Doggy sounds good to me :chogdee2 2guns 2guns

Lie in's and short journeys suit me as you know.

My caddy Kia No 205, will most likely be escorting me around the course, and giving me them usual stearn looks when I do a bad shot :cry1 but at least it is not as bad as what she does to my opposition

Cheers

No food is good for me also. I have already booked Ji and if I go missing for 4 minutes around the 11th then don't worry as that is all it takes her. I dont even have to buy a cellphone. LOL.

I take it Callum you will not be requiring a bus then??? No worry and have a bus load of Koreans that want a trip to anywhere.

No trouble with the food Doggie, just watch the poison eggs for breakfast and keep the bacon warm. B)

Seems every chap here has his favorite caddy except mio -- always too hungover to remember numbers, apart from halving the odd hole with an 11. B)

Any quality remains lads?

Photos? Frontals? Please reveal your darkest secrets.

Daddy, surprised your laid-back friend from the Den of Sin is not on your bag. :finger
