Is there a fast track through immigration for Business/First ticket holders or do you just have to be happy that you are first off your aircraft and can beat most of your other pax to immigration?

I know it's pot luck when you arrive, you just hope a couple of 744s are not in front of you on the taxiway :clueless

Me and webmaster recently flew in from Manila and were taken to the fast track lane which i belive is for "elite card holders" .

Not sure what made us get the special treatment but we were not complaining.

Regards

ps.3PM in the afternoon seems to be the worst time as there is at least 3 other flights there from LHR and germany!!! :clueless :unsure:

cheers Guys,I cannot remember seeing one before, not to worry, one of the first off the aircraft and run like fuck :chogdee2

Unless you only have carry on luggage it wont do you any good as you will still have to wait for your bags to appear. On my 6 trips I have never been any longer than 45 minutes from wheels down to in the taxi and on my way. In fact, on my last trip it was 30 minutes.

I think that is pretty fast. :nod

There is actually a fast track service as on one flight an announcement was made apologising for it not being available. Certainly the only time I've flown 1st Class to Bangkok (BA) I had to make my own way to Immigration and wait in a lengthy queue. Then when I got down to the baggage carousel, it was jammed so tight with cases that you couldn't get anymore on! :cry2 Even though I had bits of string tied to my cases it took bloody ages to find them. :unsure:

On my return journey to the UK, I was escorted from Check In through Immigration (no waiting in line :unsure: ) and to the QANTAS lounge. :P

Two trips ago, I was out of customs within 17 minutes of landing. My bag was the second one that came out. :D Second fastest was Changi in S'pore, I was out in 25 minutes.

If you have an APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) all you have to do is walk up to an immigration official and they will escort you through immediately (this happened to me a few weeks ago).

An ABTC is available to nationals of the following economies

* Australia

* Brunei Darussalam

* Chile

* Chinese Taipei

* Hong Kong (China)

* Indonesia

* Japan

* Republic of Korea

* New Zealand

* Papua New Guinea*

* People's Republic of China

* The Philippines

* Malaysia

* Peru

* Singapore

* Thailand

* Vietnam*

Cost is AUD155 for 3 years and it provides faster immigration processing on arrival via access to fast-track entry and exit through special 'APEC' lanes at major airports. As Bangkok does not have a marked lane you get VIP treatment and a 90 day visa. This card also saves having to apply & pay for visas into China, Indonesia, Brunei etc. I have already recouped the cost of my card with a couple of trips to China.

Guys,

I was lucky enough to read a posting from Jambo a few days before I came here. I arrived on Eva from London about 4.30 in the afternoon. Huge queues at immigration in Terminal 1. As Jambo had recommended I kept walking down the corridor to Terminal 2, and at the first Passport Control I came to there were 4/5 people in line. Once I was through walked back to Terminal 1. Still had to wait for baggage for a while but very noticeable when I collected my baggage after a wait relatively few people at the carousel. Vast majority still in immigration queue. :rolleyes:

Arriving about 0700 the queue to get through Customs Green Channel seemed endless. I assume there was some sort of purge on. I went through the deserted Red Channel, confessed to carrying drugs and produced medication and a prescription. I was waved straight through.

US is near the end of trade negotiations with LOS. This would be great if the US joined this. I like the 90 day visa. I plan on writing my elected officials and see if they can but a bug up the State Departments ass on this issue. They are always looking to make business easier for US business.

Hell if they will let Chile and Peru in why not us. Aren't we universally loved by one and all on this planet. :eyecrazy
