The driving thread made me think that if you wanted to kill yourself, you could just keep crossing any busy road in Pattaya. It would be a great way to figure out the half-life of a farang crossing a certain road. Statistically you should be able to figure out how many times you can cross the road and still live.

IMHO I don't think the majority of farang jump to their untimely death, more like they are assisted.

 

However, I think one farang may have started the ball rolling on a new way to meet your maker and that was to shag himself to death! What a way to go...

I believe sticking a six inch kitchen knife into your neck often works.

If you need to go faster than that about 3 months on a motorcycle every day should do the trick.

Another way is. Going to the gun range and miss the target on the range. But it could give you some lethal lead poisoning, if you point it to yourself.

Lots of people can't shoot themselves, while more can take a jump. Also, it's easier and less risky than acquiring a gun, which would maybe tip off people who would stop you.

No. Suicide makes an insurance policy void, and beneficiaries do not get paid. You can cash out some policies early. I cannot tell you which type, though.

Ok, best way I can think of, get a sigh that says, i'm a rich American and I love thai girls (with it copied into thai to make things easy) and then walk down soi 6 at right about sunset during high season. Oh and have an entire outfit made out of 1k baht notes (taped together)... I think that would about do the trick. :)

I'll take a bite. Why don't you elaborate on what you are so proud of as you seem to be upset by my observation that there are lowlifes in Pattaya.

Same in the U.S. It really depends on the policy. Every policy is supposed to disclose this information. Most of them are valid in case of suicide if the policy holder pays the premium for such period of time (typically 1 year). I guess they want to give the person to think about it for at least a year.

 

So I suggest to read the policy before committing suicide. What a nice thread!

(this definition comes from the California Insurance Commissioner's Office). UK policies are similar to US policies. In any event, policies can either have a total exclusion, or reduced death benefit, should the policy holder commit suicide within 2 years of obtaining the life insurance policy. So, buyer beware ... if you're going to off yourself, read the fine language contained within your life insurance policy.
