I will be going to Thailand for the first time at the end of Aug. I emailed Mr. Toom and got a very quick response back. He told me where he would be and even attached a map of the airport. I'm looking forward to doing business with him

Used Mr Tooms service first time in July and booked him again for September.Only downside in July was that driver forget where he parked his car !!

Good service overall-gave my normal 100 baht tip and he seemed more than delighted.Perhaps they dont get tipped that often ??

Booked Mr Toom to meet at the airport in February and received confirmation etc...no one there to meet us.

There was a very nice lady who was organising the dozens of taxi drivers and I explained that toom had not appeared. She very kindly telephoned the number which had been supplied to me when I booked and after 1/2 hour waiting his lady driver appeared and transported us to Pattaya.

After a 19 hour journey this is not good. I won`t be using him again...plenty more taxi operators to choose from, infact I used Mermaids for the previous 6 airport trips and they were always on time. Ok is costs 1700 baht but what the hey!

Coming out there on the 28th August and looking to get a taxi straight form the airport to Pats. What's the booking proceedure/contact details for his service? How much in advance do I need to contact him in order for my car to be waiting for me at the airport?

I made the unfortunate mistake of not hiring Mr Toom last year when I went to LOS, guess what, arrived at the airport and there was no one there to pick me up, I am back there in just over a week, Mr Toom is booked. Should have had my head examined for not hiring him last year.

I used toom as usual for my return airport trip on Aug 6th,driver requested that I pay him before arrival at airport! Don't worry this is quite normal now and NOT A SCAM. If the BIB see money changing hands outside the airport it can (and often does mean big trouble for the driver),and if questioned yourself simply say a friend organised the car for you and no money is involved. <huh

inspired by his good reputation on here i booked mr toom for an early hours pickup in bangkok two weeks ago...he was a no show...i waited for an hour and then haggled with a taxi tout...who took me across the road to the multi storey carpark...now i have been to thailand many times but this was the first time at the new airport and this carpark thing was the norm at the old place...my driver leaves me to get the car but a minute later i am joined by two of his rather big pals who ask me if i want marijuana...luckily for me a policeman on a motorbike comes by and they scatter...he tells me they are bad and gets me another driver...thinking back i was an idiot to go into an empty car park at 2am with some stranger and am grateful to the copper

It will cost 1800 but i am pleased to get about 50 year old lady as my driver and she do not drive like maniac so i feel pretty safe :devil

Whats up with a taxi outside airport?

Whats up is that you can be taken somewhere outside the airport and transfered to his "uncles"car and and other dodgy dealings,so its always best to have a car pick you up and Mr Toom is cheaper than the Taxis Outside who will do their best to rip you off,as a welcome to Thailand.

What a load of bollocks.

You obviously haven't got a clue about the procedure or cost of getting a standard meter taxi.

I used Mr. Toom's service in August, both to Pattaya and on the return. The driver was there waiting for me at the airport and was 30 minutes early on the way back. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Mr. Toom.

I have used his services about 4 times now, and have not experienced one problem with him. In fact usually his driver is waiting for me. Hurry up. Definitely would not hesitate to use him again.

And your great wisdom includes my problems with cabs at Don Mung ,of course it does as you can say with no hesitation that I am talking bollocks .seeing as I dont know you and as far as I know have never spoken to you I would like you to read my fortune as you seem to be able to know all from little knowledge ,is it PSI or just piss and wind.

No, Jack. You state that Toom is cheaper than a meter taxi. Toom is 1,200 (incl tolls) each way, a meter taxi is 1,200 (fixed price + tolls, + 50 Baht surcharge) from BKK to Pattaya and 800 Baht (+ tolls) for the return. When you get a meter taxi your trip is recorded at the airport and you get a receipt showing the cab number and details of what to do in the event of any problems. With the uninsured Mr Toom you get nothing.

BTW, it's Don Mueang.

Mr Tom,

Can you tell me the way to get a taxi from Suv. airport to Pattaya? I like the idea of a receipt and peace of mind going with proper taxi firm. Where would I head for when I have got through immigration and baggage pick up? Have got worried before when proper taxi just took me round corner and I got in unlicensed, private old banger driven by a student all the way to Pattaya. Thanks.

The public taxi rank is moving to the arrivals level in the next couple of weeks (it is presently on the ground floor). Simply go outside and they have official booths marked up for public taxis. Do not get confused with signs for the airport's own limos (grey toyotas).

Go to the desk and tell them your destination. The prices are shown at the booths. Within BKK it is metered plus tolls, plus 50 Baht airport surcharge. To Pattaya it is 1,200 Baht plus tolls, plus 50 Baht surcharge.

The booth operator takes down your details (you don't pay them) and directs you to one of the waiting taxis, gives one half of the booking slip to the driver and the other half to you. On your part it lists the basis for the fares, contact numbers in case of complaints and the taxi number. Inside the cab the drivers name/number should be displayed in English ..... make a note on your part of the booking slip. Give the driver cash for the tollway and pay the other 1,250 when you get to your destination.

I always ask for a Thai Rung cab ....... they are a Thai built 4x4 type vehicle and extremely comfortable especially if there is more than one of you travelling.
