Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

I prefer this area for accommodation and always (in low season) get away at under 1000 baht per night. Has anyone stayed in the area recently and have some reccdommendations and prices please. I am looking for August room.

I've stayed in the Eastiny Soi 7 a couple of times. It's ok but nothing special.

You get what you pay for I guess.

I contacted Flipper Lodge recently and they are NOT having their usual summer discounts this year.

Used to have some buy 5 get 2 nights free offers in the summer months.

They explained it as they were renovating part of the building and didn't have enough rooms to make offers this summer.

So you pay full price with construction noise thrown in, package deal! :banana

You might stay clear of that one this summer until they are done...............

Flipper house soi 7 are still doing their discount I think it worked out at 875 Bht a night

Rooms are a little bit smaller than Flipper Lodge but otherwise much the same

Last time I walked by there I noticed that they had cleared the area next to the Flipper House on the 2nd Rd side. Could be some construction going on.

To each his own, but I would not recommend this area. Sure you are "in the middle of the action", but it's easy enough getting here. What's the point of staying here? I'd rather stay somewhere quieter and not have to be haggled by women every time I want to go to 7/11, or take a look around.

Just something to consider...

Perfect reasonable when put into context of being in Pattaya. I can't ever imagine saying this in Farangland!

I was also looking for a hotel in this area and was considering Eastiny on soi 7...any pros and cons to share? Was just wondering if it was noisy and the conditions of the rooms...found a previous post while searching but that was over a year ago.

Thanks.

Stayed in the Sunbeam 2 years ago, ok hotel but not girl friendly, stayed at the Sunshine last year and was great, girl friendly, good staff and great location, room made up every day, only issue is there is no safe, only boxes in reception that close at 21:00 and open up again at 10:00 apart from this slight hang up I had a great stay.

Was thinking about the Kippers this time around but the buiding work put me off so booked the Sunshne again for 4 wonderful weeks starting on Wednesday, just finished packing and I am ready for the off, wheels up at 10:00 tomorrow morning.

Before this trip, I would have recommended the Eastiny Soi 7. Unfortunately I was robbed by the cleaning lady and the hotel management was NO help at all. Actually, did less than nothing to even make me feel like they were concerned. I've stayed at the all 3 Eastiny Hotels, both Flippers and the Pig and Whistle. I think the Eastinys are the cleanest although very basic in room. Pig and Whistle is the most cozy but older not really a hotel (sort of like the Dynasty in Bangkok). Both Flippers are fine as well.

If you are coming to Pattaya and planning to stay at the Eastiny Hotels, think again. I have been staying at the various Eastiny Hotels for more than 10 years but this trip has convinced me NEVER to stay here again.

For the 2nd time in 10 years, I was robbed by the cleaning lady. First time, she entered my room when I went to Breakfast and stole money from my wallet (5 years before) even though I had left the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door. Not big money so no big deal. This time, "big money" was taken from my safe while i was out again for breakfast and the same thing, placed a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, but she entered anyways. I admit I was stupid and left the safe open so I got what I deserved. :D

The reason I suggest you not stay at the Eastiny Hotels is that even after this occurred... I asked the front desk to call the Police, they refused and said I needed to go there myself. I confronted the cleaning lady and housekeeping and the cleaning lady and housekeeping manager just said that "they cannot go into my safe so I must have lost it somewhere else". I finally got a hold of the "Big Boss" for the hotels. He at least listened and agreed that they should have called the Police to come and investigate but that was it. I demanded that they at least change the cleaning lady on my floor which they eventually did. I then paid 6000 baht for the rooms and they told me that printer wasn't working so would give me receipt later. When I checked, it only had me paying 5000 baht. The front desk receptionist told me I only paid 5000 baht and that is what the receipt said so it must be true. When I asked to speak to the "Big Boss" again, they refused to call him even though it was 7PM because he was "done for the night". He specifically told me that if I had any other problem, have them call him. Clearly that message did not get through. :D

While I like the hotels, think they are good value and clean, I will never stay again at an Eastiny Hotel. First time I had this problem was in the Eastiny Place and this time in Eastiny Soi 7. The hotels are good (if not slightly overpriced), but if you do have any problem, the staff and onsight managers are completely of no use and are not helpful at all.

Hopefully this will not happen to you!!!!

For this reason, unless you need internet, stay at the Flipper :drunk
