Melatonin helps you sleep and gets u over jet lag sooner. (at least for me.)

The general view is that Melatonin does help you adjust to the day/night cycle better.

I am not clear how this helps somebody traveling to Pattaya or Las Vegas :-)

If you were listening to Enya I wouldn't think you'd need the diazepams.

My flight from PDX (Portland , Oregon, USA) to BKK was 20 hours and then the trip to Pattaya was another 2, and the quick unpack of the bags and out the door to lookie loo... Id say i was up 30 hours at the least.

I cant sleep on planes.. So i just sat and watched all the movies they had playing that were of intrest.. even tried some of those silly games they have. Lots of music and lots of movies is the only way i get by.

Sleep.. whats that..

Lou

The 17 hr direct flight from JFK is a piece of cake compared to some of the flights with connections. First trip I booked the cheapest flight that changed in Chicago, then Toyko...After 26 hrs I thought I was gonna die on the way over. On the way back...snow storm in Chicago, you can imagine the hell I went through....

Now the problem is that the Thaiair flight from JFK is getting pricey

I can never sleep on the flight over. Normally wie awake and stiff with erotic thoughts. Have even gone into the loo for a pull before the plane has crossed the English Channell.

Melatonin is the chemical in the brain that causes drowsiness and plays a big part in your sleeping cycles. With more of this in your system you get drowsy and can go to sleep.

You could therefore use it to artificially adjust your circadian cycle to match a different timezone. But as you imply, you are going to be awake at some pretty funny hours anyway in Pattaya and Las Vegas.

In light of this, you could also use 5-HTP, which I might give a shot on the trip over. 5-HTP breaks down into 5-HT (serotonin) which then breaks down into melatonin. Big dose of 5-HTP, you will get drowsy from the excess melatonin and wake up happy as due to the serotonin. Fuck me, this I will HAVE to try for my flight BACK!

A couple of weeks ago I flew BKK to Singapore-less than one hour stopover then Singapore to Manchester non - stop (13 and half hours) drinks, meal then 2 tabs and sleep until woken up over Vienna for breakfast-fantastic no jet lag whatsoever

this may be controversial but i find a mere half tablet of flunitrazepam (rohypnol) is brilliant for sleeping on a plane...no metallic taste like zopiclone, no headache's like valium...just sleep and a clear head afterwards...lots of bad press oviously about the drug, but if used correctly and not often i find it to be brilliant.

Yes,business class is the only way to go...pleasantly surprised when my American Airlines flight from Chicago to Tokyo was the "new" remodeled 777.They made the business class seats recline to a flat bed like position. What a delight to sleep flat!Took a Xanex after my second glass of Chard....the second leg from Tokyo to Bangkok was not as relaxing as I was back to economy and no leg room on a ANA flight.Oh well, still slept and was ready to go all night upon arrival...had the lux van meet me at the airport for a smooth ride to town...MM :clap2
