Money talks! Over the period of 10 days during songkran , we noticed business was generally down and we (half chinese half indian group) were not stopped in any bars except , Hooty's (which we got in the nite before!) Even What's Up didnt bat an eyelid to stop us.

I am Indian too and I often visit Pattaya, atleast used to till recently. I have never really faced any sort of discrimination towards Indians personally. I think it is more to do with one's attitude which the bar guys are good at spotting. I however agree that there are many Indian tourists in Pattaya who fall in the cheap charlie category.

I am 62 years old and guess what ? When I was a kid, all the jobs that are done by immigrants today, were done by us. We had hospitals full of doctors and nurses, bus drivers, teachers in schools, shopkeepers, factory workers, Butchers, Bakers, Fishmongers..... darn it, we even made ships, dug canals, built railways, underground trains, sewers.... In fact we became a World Power all on our own and with the people we had here.

 

I don't remember any politician 40 years ago, proposing a motioning to flood our country with natives from the third world, to do the same jobs at a lower wage. Had they done so, it would have lost a few votes at the next election.

 

As for you being British, sorry old son, not as long as you have a hole in your ear. Cliff Richard, Joanna Lumley and Spike Milligan were all born in India, but I don't recall any of them claiming to be Indian. Mind you if an Indian passport, gave you more freedom than the one you would have in your own country, or if it gave you access to free education, health care, and housing, they might have had second thoughts.

 

We are a tolerant race, but things are on the change, the wheel is turning. The days of the easy ride for the minorities, may be coming to an end. Already local councils are withdrawing grants to ethnic groups like the Southall Black Sisters, because they don't serve the whole community. This would not have happened 2 years ago.

If you read our complaints, youd have seen that we wrote that ethnic minorities arent getting treated as equal. They are being favoured. And that inferior applicants are getting jobs because they are a minority> We had not long got rid of the chinless wonders born with silver spoons that got good jobs, not on ability, but because of their name or the school they went to even if they failed miserably. Now we have ethnics with poor language skills, people skills and an attitude ( see Indianbrit) getting jobs they shouldnt. The UK doesnt reward hard work. Thats part of what we are moaning about. It rewards drug addiction, anto social behaviour and ethnic minorities. You only have to look at some of the talentless ethnics presenting TV programmes about subjects they know nothing about and are completely wooden and untalented with no personal skills whatsoever.

As the UK industrial working society was dismantled and exported

There as been a problem with the true British, population of the UK not moving in to the service sectors quickly.

 

Whereas the Asians have been quick to exploit these opportunities, especially in sales

I didnt disparage money, nor did I long for it. I was answering Indianbrits put down of his fellow countrymen. The ones who dont make as much money as an Indian or have as much education. So I therefore put the points forward that having a lot of academic qualifications doesnt mean you will make money. In the third world they value education so highly as its their only hope. In the west its easier to attain a high standard of living without further education.

To be fair it has to be said that Indians are extremely racist and discriminatory themselves.

 

A large proportion of Indian families still have the 'arranged marriage' approach and will not allow their offspring to marry anyone who isn't Indian.

 

I have seen adverts for speed dating events where only Indians are allowed in.

I like to regard my fellow Brits as equals, but it is difficult to show serious regard towards those who have sympathies with the BNP (or in the case of your country, the KKK). It pains me to state that I inevitably come to the view that such people are inferior across a range of parameters, a view backed up by an objective assessment by Oxford University of the kinds of people who are driven by such narrow-mindedness (see a previous post).

 

We Indians wear a similar badge to our Jewish friends and allies, in respect of their early experiences in Europe, as a result of our shared capability to be a rapid success both financially and educationally. Such success breeds resentment and jealously in the minds of those who are incapable of matching it. The end result is one where a disproportionate number of indigenous Brits with such questionable views are both socioeconomically challenged and educationally challenged. They don't seem to mind the failing immigrant, but they have a particular disdain for the kind of immigrant who is a success. Their only emotional outlet is to blame the successful immigrant for their own failure to be a success -- clearly, both events are mutually exclusive, since the life opportunities available to an educated and ambitious British Indian are infinitely better than those available to an uneducated, state-sponger (whatever his creed or race). In Education.

 

I was a school Governor 12 years ago. We were asked to decide on how the money for all services provided by the LEA, should be spent. One service, we had never heard of - 'Mother Tounge', taught Indian kids to speak Urdu, Punjabi. Gurjurati and Hindi up to A level. It was costing every school in the borough £2000 PA- (without them knowing it ) Despite the majority of Governing Bodies voting to stop the service, giving each school the £2000 to spend on other things. The Council refused to do so. In fact the service, which was costing over £200,000 PA then, is still running today. Take note, it isn't any other languages than Indian.

 

The LEA had Governor meetings, that were exclusive to Ethnic Minorities. No white people were allowed. It was changed to an 'Ethnic Minority Advisory Committee' after some objections, but I am sire it still goes on today.

 

Planning permission.

 

The council turned a blind eye to Indians building extensions and bungalows at the bottom of their gardens without the required building permission. As Alan Keen our M.P. recalls, when he was a Councilor it was called the Cranford Mafia agreement.

 

The present Conservative Council got voted in on a manifesto of investigating these buildings, flying the Union Flag over the council offices and scrapping all P.C. A Labour Councilor, called this persicution of Indian people who had built without planning permission, as 'Institutional Racism' Where have we heard that little nutmeg before ? It came to light that he and his cousin, had 3 houses converted to flats without P.Perm'.

 

Heathrow Airport

 

Every house in the area received a letter from the BAA, outlining the proposed 3rd runway. One item that came to light was the scrapping of the ( unknown to many ) Cranford Agreement, between BAA and Hounslow Council, that more flights would depart from the Southern runway, causing less noise to those living in Cranford, Hayes, and Southall

( Asian areas ) and more noise to those in Bedfont, Ashford and Staines ( non Asian areas )

 

I could go on, but I can't type that quickly.

 

Of course there are some lovely Indian People here, but in General their nation has a bad reputation.

Some British posters here needn't bother coming back to my country. They are an ambarrassment to my country and are surplus to the requirements of Great Britain, a country which we must not allow to become infested by racist spongers off the state.

 

Instead, we must open the doors of our great country to more highly-skilled, highly productive immigrants, people who will prove to be superior British citizens in every respect to the racist socioeconomic dropouts who can only whinge and not add to our economy.

 

Personally, I am a proud Brit, but remain somewhat embarrassed by a minority of narrow-minded indigenous natives.

 

To the international readers: please do come on vacation to Great Britain, and do not allow the tiny minority of racists here put you off. Our £ is weak, so you will find things cheap here !! When I go to the USA, I do not allow the insignificant KKK put me off; please do likewise.
