I'll be first to admit that I know nothing about Apple. My friend told me the ipod had been hacked and had 4,000 MP3 songs on it. Since the songs were MP3 format, I thought I had a chance to be able to copy them.

I wonder if your friend meant "Jail broken and unlocked". hacked implies a totally different thing I think.

I just heard on the radio, Steve Jobs announcing and showing off the the next generation I-phone.

The audience were cooing over everything he said.

Apple users... its like Amway or Jonestown or something.

I really don't get it, why are Apple getting praise for inventing something 'new' Tablet PC's that are more flexible and cheaper have been around for a while now, never really took off admittedly but not Apple's invention.

My opinion on the iPad?

Waste of fooking money, get a Netbook that can do it all, for no where near the cost

After he was finished, Apple handed out packs of cigarettes for the post-orgasm smoke.

Yes, that's the HTC Evo 4G -- currently the best Android phone on the market. The screen uses old tech, but is very large and increases the usability.

I'm in the Market for the HTC Desire, can't use 4G in Thailand and the Desire's screen is plenty big enough for me. Apart from the camera, under the hood its pretty much the same as the EVO.

they sound funny when they say the name, for the longest time I thought they were calling it "Design"

After reading a bit more about the iPad, I discovered that it doesn't even have a USB port not to even mention an SD memory card slot. Apple looks determined to get every dollar from the customer it possibly can. By the time you buy all the items needed to make it a decent net book, you will have the price of a good lap top invested. All I can say for sure is that when my loaded lap top dies, I will buy a net book and it WON'T be an Apple product.

ADDED - I forgot to mention that the iPad also needs a special SIM card. You CAN'T use the SIM card from your phone.

Apple lovers are like Toyota lovers. If Toyota put wheels on a turd, Toyota lovers would tell you what a great turd it is.

Well summed up, although you missed on the point of the price of the wheeled turd being 2 or 3 times the cost of something similar! :eyecrazy

Anytime a person buys proprietary products, they are then forced to buy overpriced service parts that are usually hard to find and expensive when you are able to find them.

Years ago, I had a huge yard, it was the best part of ten acres and had many trees. It didn't take long to wear out big name brand lawnmowers. I eventually found a mower called a Yazoo. It was built by Mississippi rednecks. That Yazoo would turn in its own length, no trimming was needed. The dealer told me that when anything breaks or wears out, that I could buy the part from the local hardware store.

The last time my no name desktop computer got slow and finally died, the local computer shop replaced the motherboard, the power supply, the CPU and three updated gigs of RAM for a grand total of about 8,000 baht. I now have a new dual core computer in an old box.

Yes, but my snide comment was particularly aimed at 'Apple/Mac'...... who overprice the original product too.

What's a box? :beer 1luv

The box is that place where they put in all those electronic gadgets like hard drives, CPU, power supply, RAM and whatever else is needed to make a computer work. It's also called a case. If you buy a good one, it will definitely last longer than you will.

Hi,

Too true. Apple seem to have a fanatical fan base but I'm certain one can find similar products that do a better job cheaper. Adobe is needed as well for many sites and Apple seem to have a blind spot as far as they are concerned.

That thing you used to plug hundreds of cables into? Do people still do that? :beer

YEP, that's the one. You do have the choice of buying a little box with no cables. They are a lot more expensive and if you take one to Somchai's little computer shop for repair, his eyes will roll back in his head and he will tell you "MAI DAI". As for myself, I'll happily put up with the cables.

Your mistake is thinking of it as a laptop replacement. That's not what it is or supposed to be.

Can't you get a big one without all the extra cables, just like a TV?

I think you can. It's called an Apple iMac. Try to get one of those repaired upcountry.
