Garden Supplies...

Recommended Posts

I need to bite the bullet and buy a lawn mower and a strimmer.

Those and other gardening stuff have to be put someplace and currently I don't have anywhere.

I could have an extension added on to a building and stuff it in there. It would likely be more expensive than warranted, and I do hate having workmen round tossing fag ends, they always bring their damned wives and out of control kids too!

A bit of a lean to might look a bit tacky....

My other thought was'The Garden Shed'... popular in the UK, likely as it does not need planning permission, and one can avoid the Council jobsworths.

Has anybody seen anything like that for sale in the Pattaya area, I think I could manage to put it up with neighbourly help ?

I can see it now, I'll put a little refrigerator and an old armchair in there with the stuffing poking out of a hole, buy a flat cap and take up pipe smoking!

Any better ideas out there, or where can I buy a garden shed?

Try HomePro but I doubt it.

Given your stipulations, find a contractor who can build one and move it in. Personally, I'd go for the roof-only extension, a "carport" so to speak.

Yeah me too, I was in the Carrefour/Pattaya one and didn't see anything.

I am looking to be able to lock it up (Mr Pastry), so a carport isn't quite it, someone will spot a 17k lawnmower and have it over the wall.

A garden shed was a quick fix idea for me.

I took a look at the 'True Value' stuff (wow-expensive) and it looked more like big wardrobes and cupboards, but a trip to the store may be worthwhile. It says Nongprue/ Sukhumvit but I can't place the location exactly. Anybody can nail it for me?

Getting a contractor to build a bit of an extension is looking like the best solution, and since that is going to cost I may end up making it bigger and providing a bit of a workshop.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Nongprue is on the darkside, roughly opposite Pattaya Klang. I have no idea where the store is, though.

.

Yeah but the address says Sukhumvit so it is on the main rd there, not the darkside. I actually used to live up Soi siam cc (Nongprue area) so I am pretty sure it is not around there. I suspect a bit further South.

if living on Siam cc Turn out of Siam left onto suk road, head that way up past Pattaya Tai towards bigC, its on the left just along there past Theprasit road.

Yes, that sounds right. I think it is a place I went in years ago that had a lot of expensive stuff originating from the USA. At the time I was looking for a new Fluke meter. I thought it had a different name back then. Thanks....

17k for a mower...

Go for the 2850 baht lawn mower...

or I recommend this one a bargain at 152,000 baht. You also could get rid of the motorbike as well. Hit two birds with one stone...

Well I think I will have someone come in and build something. But I haven't got any space 'at the back' so likely need something that looks a little more like part of the existing building(s). The problem is the existing tiled roof, extending that is always awkward. Extend it onward and it must come downward and it becomes too low. I also do not want it to become a jumping point to the perimeter wall (hence the limited space at the back). I am somewhere between your idea and a full fledged extension for 120k or so. I will run power into it and maybe end up with a combined toolshed/ workshop. I am very much a procrastinator, and like to plan things to death before committing cash. :allright
