Wow! You quoted a two-sentence post I made two years, seven months ago. Now that has to be a real grudge match! Or are you just trying to run interference for Gabor? The proceeds of ille

with Police taking back handers you often find the police are the controlling mafia in many countries, Unless the thai police were getting some sort of payoff then they would soon prevent this

Need to move Tony Soprano and the New Jersey crew in there

Non Thai mafia and criminals use Thailand and other de regulated countries mostly for money laundering

Have a look at all the empty bars with staff and expensive prices

Funny money in ,legal money out . And no customers? All cash

And I have seen girls interviewed in the basement restaurant of T COM ,

For trips to Europe for work trafficking .

I started reading this forum and then I realized it was started three years ago.

Foreign mafia? My guess is that they operate so long as they don't step on any locals.

Money laundering? Where is the money coming from for all the Pattaya condos? Many of them are unoccupied. It's almost like the owners don't care if they sell the individual units or not.

I don't think that dutch criminals have the balls to fuck with thai criminals.......the russians though are crazy and have the funds.

It doesn't matter if Russian mobbed-up guys live or vacation in Pattaya. It's when they start making offers that farang bar owners can't refuse that we'll have reason to worry.

My suspicion is that any Russian mob/mafia in Pattaya is working within the growing Russian community...in other words, their targets are fellow countrymen.

I seriously doubt they will encroach on Thai directed businesses...so in the case of farang bar owners (or other Thai owners), they are already paying the Thai police, and a Russian demand on them would be quickly dealt with by the Thais who are already milking that revenue stream.

Yes, that's the way it is today and hopefully it will stay that way. Only Russians have reason to worry about what Russians do to other Russians. But if at some point in the future the wiseguyskis feel confident enough to start with "hostile" takeovers, it will be the day the music dies.

The problem with gangsters is that there can be unintended victims to their enforcement. That can happen anywhere in the world though so it is still probably safer in Pattaya than on the streets of my own town.
