There are loads of good tunes listed as replies. I'm in the same court as the OP in that I've even come around to finding some rap music pretty good. My rock and roll listening started in 1955.

 

 

Although its kind of sappy, I never get tired of listening to Jerry and the Pacemakers with this one:
