I'm having a rethink now on my Aug/Sep trip, may be there from about 24-Sep on to catch the last week of group games. I'll probably be staying in the LK Metro area again so will keep track of this thread to see what's happening.

I've just heard about this thread. Here in Metro we will definitely be showing all Rugby World Cup games. No matter what time - for most of the matches I will be there! As we do during 6-Nations, we will also have some nosh on. Currently we are showing the 6-Nations and Superugby from Astro and stream if/when Astro do not take a game. When possible and on request we have also shown Guinness Premiership, Magners League and Heineken Cup. Further details will be posted in the bar closer to the time and if some people would like to have an email update then please send an email to promotions@metro-apartments-pattaya.com with RWC in the subject line.

I thought Metro Apartments would have on ,I am looking for a place where many will go to cheer on our teams ,

Im looking forward to this so much ,as i am thinking have 6 long week end break to Patts during the world cup ,hoping England will be there till the end .

Well only about 3 months to go so who will be here during world cup.Lets hope many of us can meet up and have a great time,

I will keep updating this thread all the way up to the world cup,if your name is not on list just let me know you attending some of the time and i will keep updating the list.

 

I have just received e mail from Dennis from Metro Appartments on Soi LK ,

 

Looks like some good things are being arrange at the Metro Appartments during the world cup.

So this could be good place to view for all the rugby fans ,i have a feeling a good attendance and atmosphere will be good here and a few competions are in the progress being arranged,

I know.... 3 months to go yet but I thought I'd send this off now as a first draft. If there are any errors that you spot please let me know.

As time ticks by i thought i bring post to top again.

 

Anybody want adding to list who will be watching the rugby.

 

Well iv booked my first long week end break to watch the rugby ,be in Patts Firday 9th Sep till the Monday .

 

I will be stopping at Metro Appartments ,that way i dont have far to stagger to my room after all the games.

 

Also will be good sessions for sure during the coming week ends as Rugby are in the afternoons/tea time and football

on at the night HIC HIC

 

I have just seen Soamons gave a good trashing to Ozzy

 

So im thinking now Wale supporters will not like their group draw with Soamon and SA i think.

Here's my experience 4 what it's worth, watching all the matches I can in the last 2 decades when in LOS.

1st I must caviot that I never knew Metro was showing the matches so I can't comment but would be a very good option (A/C)and even if the "live" matches are missed, the replays go on all week.

For watching those in morning/afternoon I like the crowd at Jack Tar's on soi6, drink prices are cheap, foods ok and I like to get a seat so I can keep an eye on the "street" and the tg's across the way.

For evening/late night matches I like the "hooligans" at the bar on soi Bukoow, just north of the Oasis go-go, always packed with roudy expats, I forget the name being old and senile but it's just a couple doors down form the Oasis on the same side of the soi, plus they have a white board on the sidewalk listing what matches are being played and times and they have several TVs and multiple sporting events being being shown, cheap drinks and food available as it's an expat place.

NOTE neither place has A/C

The best place in Koh Samui to watch the Rugby world cup is the Billabong Surf Club, Fisherman's Village, amazing views, great food, huge cold draught & bottled beer selection and a full rugby coverage for every game of the world cup. The walls are covered in World Cup history, draws, pools information and road to the world cup posters plus they open at 9am with plenty of time for a big breakfast to get the days activities under way.
