Weather in end June- early July

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, sorry to repeat myself, but my trip in June is not on now due to work pressure. The way things are going with the economy, work has to take preference to holidays. In the past I would have just booked it and gone.

However, my boss will give me the last week in June, first week in July.

All the reports I read say 'hot and rainy' but my Thai friend says ' rain every day,but only for short time, all in one go.'

Can anyone give me information about the weather at this time please?

It'll be fine. Just go. If you're out and about and it starts raining, just pop into a beer bar for a beer or two. It usually doesn't rain for long.

It's hot and humid. It's not likely to rain every day, but often, around 5 or 6pm, there will be rain. Did I mention it's hot? When it rains, the only thing that can happen that's bad is that any steel implants you have might rust.

I have been that time of year and you can get some gully washers but they don't last long. In the tropics, even Hawaii, post sunset rain is common. The moisture (humidity) goes up all day and after the sun sets and the higher air cools, the water comes back down to earth.

I have found more rain in Bangkok than in Pattaya in my visits that time of year. Someone who lives there can speak better as to why that is.

I have never been rained in for days on end. When you get there you can purchase an umbrella for cheap at 7-11 or Family Mart. You can get a cheap poncho there too or bring with.

When you go home give a Thai girl your umbrella. She will appreciate it!

The info you have is about right.

But it has been a funny year so far. No real extended hot season and a lot of rain in those normally dry months. Currently sunny and hot in the Pattaya area but a lot of rain North and West. Don't let the weather worry you, the rain is normally fast and furious but over with quickly.
