The Best Breakfast in Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Thanks Martin for the photo. Will give it a try another day after 9:00AM. I am craving biscuits and gravy. Been a loooong time since I partook of the $0.99 all you can eat Sunday breakfast buffet at the Golden Corral near the University of Oklahoma which had great biscuits and gravy. Always had to time it right. Get there at 10:30AM which was after the 8AM Baptist bible thumpers finished their mass at 9:00AM and had left the restaurant and before the 10AM BBT's got there after 11:00AM. Had that good 1/2 hour of a full buffet almost all to myself.

I like an American breakfast. So it's Tigglebitties for me.

Soi 17 east of 3rd road. No joke, if you want to try their breakfast, call 038-427 101 and they will tell your taxi driver how to get there.

Personally, I don't want the same cubed fried potato's that can be found all over Pattaya. If I wanted English potatoes, I'd go to England. It would be nice if they added hash browns on the menu tho

I managed to get to Tigglebitties for a breakfast this morning. No biscuits and gravy. Apparently sometimes they have it and sometimes they don't. TiT. Have decided to do a comparison on breakfasts between Tigglebitties and Caddyshack which is not far from Tigglebitties. Rankings are 1-5 with 5 being high.

Tigglebitties - House Breakfast (September 15)

Toast - 1. Couple pieces of small "Farmhouse" brand.

Bacon - 5. Excellent. Nice and crispy and let me replace more bacon instead of the sausages.

Eggs - 4. Scrambled. Cooked well done as I requested. Portion seemed small.

Fried Potato's - 2. Very oily and greasy. Not very well cooked.

Tea - 3. Can't really fuck it up but it was hot.

HP Sauce - 5. They have it, I like it, I use it.

Beans - N/A

Tomato - N/A

Service - 5. Great girls and friendly.

Cost - 4. 120 baht. Good value.

Caddyshack - Breakfast No. 1 (September 12)

Toast - 5. Really good Texas Toast.

Bacon - 1. Lads, that is not bacon. It is sliced ham.

Eggs - 4. Scrambled. Cooked well done as I requested.

Fried Potato's - 5. Excellent. Cubed and nicely cooked.

Tea - 3. Can't really fuck it up but it was hot.

HP Sauce - 1. Do not have it. Was offered "brown sauce." WTF is brown sauce?

Beans - 3. Small portion but nice and hot.

Tomato - 1. I don't eat tomato's but this thing was soggy and was not sure if it had been half cooked or not. Unappealing to even look at.

Service - 2. Food preparation took over 1/2 an hour.

Cost - 3.5. 130 baht. Good value.

Overall, for me, I would choose Tigglebitties, mostly because of the bacon and service. It would not even be close if Tigglebitties used the same cubed fried potato's as Caddyshack and cooked them the same way.

EDIT: You should have tried that Tigglebitties scramble that MM recommended. I tried it yesterday, it was delicious, just as he said.

lovedog100,

If you mean hashbrowns as in shredded potato's and then fried, I would agree with you. The fried potato's were, IMO, far too greasy, oily and under cooked.

In Caddyshack it would be HP.....

In the UK you are asked 'red or brown' meaning ketchup or HP.

I'm assuming biscuits and gravy means something different in the US than in the UK!

Can't imagine eating my chocolate hobnobs smothered in bisto :)

Biscuits in the us are like scones to us thats (scone scoones or whatever) and gravy is gravy as in the brown stuff thses scones ar often served with the likes of chicken etc as part of a meal. I quote this as experience of holidaying in the us nothing more so feel free to correct me but thats my experience. I always used to leave the scone as I thought no I dont do that !

I think that you may have eaten there while they were breaking in a new cook. Thai's cooks have a real disadvantage as they are cooking food that they have never seen or eaten before. Lucky for Tigglebitties, Neuy is Thai and ran a restaurant in the states for many many years. She does a good job of teaching. I went in about the same time you did and ate, my food was good, but I ordered take out taco's for Jane. When I got home, the taco's had rice and beans in them. Jane typically gives the rice and beans to Rocky, and just eats the taco's. The next morning I was in again for breakfast, when I saw Neuy I asked her why Jane had the rice and beans on her taco instead of on the side as usual. I told her that Jane wasn't happy as she doesn't like Mexican rice or beans. She explained that she was breaking in a new cook, had her make the tacos, and then said "remember to add rice and beans" while walking away. The cook having never seen mexican food before, or eaten taco's added it to the tacos. She apologized for the mistake, and said that she would bring it to the attention of the new cook. When I was finished eating and checked binned, Neuy walked up with a sack, it was taco's, with rice and beans on the side, she apologized again, and said to give it to Jane to make up for the mistake. No charge.

Aha, so that area is Na Kluea, not to be confused with Na Kluea on the other side of North Rd. :clueless

That's just the tag my map search brought up. It's obviously not Naklua.

The important post is the map location, not that text.

Yes of course, I now now very well where Tigglebitties Bar is.

I just don't know where Na Kluea is any more. :D
