International Music Festival

I just found out this event was going on while I'm in Patts. Any info about it? Is it worth going to see? The website doesn't give anything other than dates.

We like it but others disagree as it causes lots of congestion down beach road.

 

We will be there too whilst the festival is on and will definately be checking it out again.

 

Lots of live music, bands, funfair(not sure if that still runs???) and stalls selling clothes, food, sweets etc.

 

Check it out... its not bad at all, quite an experience.

Thanks for the heads-up, I was wondering what this year's dates would be...as stated here, Beach Road gets so packed with people that you can hardly move - thousands of Thais come from Bangkok and elsewhere to enjoy this festival...

How much you enjoy the festival will depend largely on whether you like the music and to what degree huge crowds bother you. But the girls all love it.

Been in Pattaya during the time of about 5 music festivals.

I kinda like it.

Makes a change.

Those pictures make it look quiet, they seem to have been taken about twilight..... I am guessing it would look different at 11pm.

 

The TGF likes to go but for the 'Country Music' stage, but came home early last year disappointed. I stay home and grouch... I regret moving well out of town these days.

Maybe more details on the bands closer to the dates... I remember bands from South Korea, Phillippines and Malaysia(?) in the past...

Bugger have to make an unscheduled trip on 2nd March, will spend most of the time up in Chaiyaphum but was thinking of getting a couple days in Pattaya before we fly back on the morning of the 18th.

 

Do you think hotels will be full for the music festival or not?

The fest is fun as hell. All night. It is a fantastic time to be in Pattaya if you like music. It is also fun to see all of Beach Road blocked off for that weekend. People hang out on the beach til dawn when the music ends.

I couldn't believe when I found out the dates were changed. Never saw anything on the websites about any changes. Oh well I guess I can chalk it up to TIT. Maybe next year.

hey its really quiet though best ever for a music festival

 

been here last 4 consecutive festivals and congestion was awful the baht buses were a nightmare stopping then trying to get a private fare into central it made life a misery

walking steet was wall to wall peeps,

but its virtually non existent this year, they advertise nearly 500,000 folks come down for it but even the bus loads are thin on the ground

 

for us heading into central from jomtien since friday have not encountered one traffic hold up

 

its perhaps a trifle too hot or they just didnt get the message out hard and fast about the date changes
