My Honda dealer was trying to interest me in the new Forza (even offering part-exchange on my PCX) - anyone tried it? In particular, I'd like some feedback on the riding position for folks who are taller than the average Thai.

Tom, do you really want a 300cc bike?

Im more than happy with me Honda Click 125cc

I tried the PCX but thought the seating position was not as comfortable as the Click.

This bike you picture looks like you would be sat quite far forward

I had a custom seat made for my PCX (a company in Phuket) so that I can sit further back - it made all the difference (I've since found out that there is a similar, specialist company less than 300m from where I live). I assume the same sort of fix will be applied to the Forza. Where I live is surrounded by various mountain ranges and you can take a bit of a buffeting when driving beyond the city limits or along the open coast roads - a bit of extra weight wouldn't go amiss. At the end of the day, I'll have to justify the price (around 160K Baht at the moment).

I am a little disturbed that someone got me looking at bigger bikes again when I have a perfectly good, safe little Nuovo outside!!!

Bushcraft has bought one, maybe he has some comments.

No. Compared to the PCX, I found it had an awkward riding position (low seat height?) which didn't feel very comfortable at all and, as I said earlier, I couldn't justify the cost. That doesn't stop the girls at the dealers trying to sell me one each time they see me though. :ninja:

I moved up from a PCX to a Forza a month ago, and am delighted with it, as are passengers. I have no trouble getting around Pattaya on it, as it's no wider than the PCX from mirror to mirror. Sure it's heavy, but beautifully balanced and a joy to weave through traffic with. The extra turn of speed from 300 cc is also great when you have a bit of open road.

I'm 6 feet tall and find the riding position very comfortable. There is an option of placing the feet flat on the running-board in the conventional position or raising them to the angled section as if riding a chopper.

The large fuel tank gives me a range of around 350 km, so fuel stops are rare. The underseat storage is huge, taking two helmets with ease and lots of shopping etc.

All in all it's expensive but a joy to ride. A downside is that when parked it attracts lowlifes prone to vandalism (two obviously intentional scratches in different places so far).

It performed brilliantly in the heavy flooding last night, as its guts are that bit higher off the ground and I was able to get through where others had no chance.

If you're in the market for a bike in that price bracket, I'd recommend it Tom.

What are they asking for one (assuming you're checking in Pattaya environs)?

After hand-pushing my Yamaha Nuovo thru the flooding in Marine Plaza to get to higher ground, I am truly impressed that Bushcraft managed to drive out without incident, though he did leave earlier than I did, and the flooding might have increased by the time I got out there.

The Nuovo dies in water levels that are easy for many other bikes to cruise through, so I'm looking for a replacement myself.

If not the Forza, get a PCX Martin, it's also brilliant on flooded roads, I've blessed it on several occasions in the past.

The Forza sells for around 165,000 Baht new.
