So how many Russians are basking in heat at home right now??     .....and how many bars play predominantly English language music and how many restuarents supply "English/Western"? food?   ...how

The entire condo block could be rented out. There is no guarantee of who will be there today or tomorrow.   I would not trust an Estate Agent as far as I could throw him.   Are you in Pattaya look

Well funny you should ask, I think I'm lucky.....In the condo on my left, a little Hungarian chap named Gabor has just moved in. And on my right is a bloke calls himself Bigmick. My neighbour opposite

Hmm... Calm please. This thread was supposed to be about neighbours...

I don't think I would like neither Papillon neither Jacko as a neighbour ;)

It wouldn't be a problem for me as you would be at least 50 yards away! :D

(PS, I have no dogs, no kids and do not play loud music so you could do worse!)

I'm moving next to Jacko........ Gonna grow a big hedge and block out his light, point my speakers at his house, have a garden party and throw dog turds over the hedge.

And shout, "That's for being funnier than me you bastard!"

By the way has Papillon got back to you after his sleep.......... about ownership issues?

I spend more time keeping the sun off me and my house than you would believe and would truly welcome the shade!

Do you have dog or are you a collector?

Not heard from Pappy yet, I think yesterday was one of his 'high' nights.

Are you in Pattaya looking or just working online?

You need to be there and see for yourself but that's only good for the day you're there, everything is subject to change.

Renting is far less hassle imho, failing that a 300 Baht Guesthouse.

Just chasing the dream

Knowing your neighbours is probably one of the most important reasons to consider during renting or buying a property.

Whether the appartments are with permanent residents or they may be rented out...people come and people go.

I used to rent an appartment for nearly 2- years and had a number of British neighbours on either side and above.

You would have thought that it would not create too much of a problem but....

On one side there was noisy arguments on a regular basis both day and night with next doors girl and her screaming kids.

On the other side the guy was partialy deaf and all conversations with his wife and phone calls were done by shouting.

The resonating thump, thump, thump vibrating through the building from the pounding of Thai food with a grinding club (mortar and pestle pot) was driving me crazy.

You do not know the score till you move in.....then the once little irritations take on a whole new meaning.

After considering the location, 1-bedroom, sun light, shady side, washing m/c, internet, cable, and swimming pool, i never considered knowing the neighbours was going to be the most important box to tick.

As for rowdy Russians or party animals......they can move in tomorrow.....with renting you can move out tomorrow.

Eventualy i bit the bullet and moved sticks to a detached house with my own space....ahhhh....peace at last...and long may it continue.

I have always thought finding 'peace and quiet' in Thailand was a forlorn hope.

Neighbours dogs, soi dogs, temples and loudspeaker systems running around the village (4am-5, monks chanting, 5am-6, volume up and connected to some ring in program on Buddhist matters). I moved out of town to get away from bars and Karaoke, but the easiest village solution is go to bed early too!
