Current status in Bangkok and Pattaya 11 Dec 2013

BANGKOK

 

Just left Bangkok for Pattaya. Saw no signs of protesters between Soi 1 Bangkok and Pattaya.

Activity seems to be normal with the exception of mobile internet which the girls tell me is down.

 

 

PATTAYA

 

Didn't notice anything unusual at first arrival but later started noticing an over supply of Thai women.

 

FLB was at typical levels.

 

Secrets was DEAD. I think there was another customer there but was beyond the correction factor of my glasses unable to be able to see. There was no falang management anywhere inside the bar to be found buy was found outside.

 

Pattaya Beer Garden was packed solid which is very unusual for this point in December. Have to say it was one of the top bargains of the night. Food was top notch and delivered quickly without any hick ups. Can't speak highly enough of the visit.

 

For the rest of Pattaya, the hot girls are seriously out numbering the guys and they are hungary.

I have just returned to Pattaya from BKK this morning. I had to go to the Royal Thai police HQ to collect a police clearance letter and I left at 05:30 and im back in Pattaya by 09:30. I saw no protestors/police barricades etc. When inside, I asked the guy about it all and he said they don't expect any thing else to happen now Yingluck has called an election for February. We passed along Wireless Road and past the UK and USA embassy's. Very light traffic and no problems at all. When I went last week, there were a lot of police vans parked at Lumpini park, but nothing now. Traffic was light and it was easy to get around.

Yellow Shirts are invading Government House in Bangkok.

Just arrived last night, did not go into Bangkok but came straight to Pattaya from the airport. No unusual activity whatsoever.

 

The only factor of note is that the immigration area looked deserted. This was around 5PM.

If the fog at Heathrow holds off and nothing else happens on Saturday then i am on my way (God willing)

and hopefully nothing happens over there before i get to Pattaya
