I was fortunate to see this as a play with the talented Tim Curry playing Mozart. I was disappointed greatly by the twerp they chose for the role in the movie, so I'm not even going to mention him.

I too had the pleasure of seeing Tim Curry. I disagree with your critique of Tom Hulce. I thought he was excellent. Apples and oranges....

Curry would have swept the best actor film awards. If you look, Hulce was nominated several times, but F Murray Abraham won all the best actor awards.

Really glad that I'm not the only who thought the guy was awful. Had many fights over it back then and started thinking that I am the bad guy...
