Bang Lamung Exercise Park - Bike Path

Decided on my bike ride yesterday to check out the progress of the new Bang Lamung Exercise Park.

 

Was surprised to discover the park has a bike path. No signs as of yet to give a hint it exists, but the entrance to the path is left of the main park entrance.

 

With all the trees that have been planted I imagine in a few years time it will offer a fair bit of shade.

 

Small play area for the kids.

 

While the path isn't long in length, it has several diversions to keep it interesting.

 

Other than a couple of workers watering, I had the park entirely to myself. Don't imagine that will be the case for much longer, but quite peaceful and quiet while I was there.

 

One can hope there will ever be enough water again in Map Phrachan reservoir to float the swim platform.

 

Apparently there are plans to extend the path to the north

Once the crowds come this might be an interesting corner to kick back with a beer and watch the confusion.

 

Park also has a nice football pitch.

 

 

Perhaps someone versed in Thai could translate this sign. My guess is it's telling those interested the park cost 19 million baht and construction started in 2015 and will finish in 2017.

It might say that the park and bike path is closed and trespassers will be fine19,058,023 baht.

 

It looks like a great place for some exercise. Makes me think I would visit on my next trip but sitting at home in 27 degree comfort gives me a different mind set to a tropical 38 degree setting.

Great images thanks. The park has been planned/talked about for a number of years. I first heard about it in 2007 when I lived in the area, I was not optimistic it would eventuate. Good to see it finally come to fruition.
