"Decent" fares with Thai.

Recommended Posts

Im going to Thailand for just 13 nights in September......Booked with Thai Airways for £480 ish.

Im also going for 6 weeks in January. "Usually" in the past , when Ive booked for more than a month with Thai Airways, the fare is a couple of hundred quid dearer..

Ive just booked for 6 weeks (leaving January ) for just £511...........Very good price methinks!

On the Thai website it was £519...though I booked with West East for £513.......i booked "over the phone"...........but if you book online with West East........its just £511!.

Only "downside" is.........You will only get 25% "mileage" with R.O.P.

Decent price, just a shame they only fly into Heathrow......

Would be great if they took the plunge and started flights to Manchester....

I live in South Wales..........so its O.K. for me.......Plus I work on the railways, so have free train travel.

I went in January this year with Qatar.........they were good too......but........ a direct flight I find much less hassle.....the older I get!

Bloody hell Marleyboy you must have a discount card lol. That's a blinding price, especially for January mate, nicely done. I'm currently seaching prices for mid Sept so if I manage to get a deal / time off work / permission from the Mrs, then I'll put it up here (the price of the flight, not the other bollocks). What's the baggage allow on Thai these days, still 30 kg?.

If you're in Pattaya at the same time, it would be good to meet up for a beer.

Cheers

Butch

I just got back last night from Oz. Thai is the only airline that flies BKK Brisbane direct ....And time for me was of the essence I only had 3 full days there to watch my son play football and rugby. The Thai direct flight is just 8 and a half hours and was only a couple of quid dearer than than the regular much longer BKK Sydney Brisbane variety...

Just be careful......... On the very day I booked some of the 'cheap fare comparison sites' had the same economy class Dreamliner flight a third more expensive.

In my duty to the board from another thread I had a quick look inside the cock-pit after landing...........Didn't spot any garlands of flowers or markings above the pilots heads..... I bet they've got some somewhere. And I nearly spluttered my tea when the the Captain announced himself as 'Captain Borisuit'...ie Captain Virgin'. .........Well I thought it was funny anyway.

Great flight......He goes all the way does Captain Virgin'...........Actually the taxi was so long I thought he was gonna drop us all off at our hotels. Really good service this trip. Thai seem to get priority take-off and landing slots at BKK so early both ways.

Only mis-hap was when rooting around in my carry-on bag for a pen...... I found my safety razor instead and sliced a chunk out of my middle finger. A lesson learned there.

Anyway good to see despite this particular route monopoly Thai are perhaps forced into being competitive.

Countless trips under my belt with Thai

But

Since BMI got dropped from the Star Alliance when BA bought it

The cessation of through flights to Manchester on the one ticket meant 'nice knowing ya' to Thai

:(
