Tropical Berts does do good food-excellent breakfast and Sunday Roast-you can get cheaper elsewhere of course. Also has daily English newspapers to read with your meal.

I saw the new room on Dancewatchers site-funnily enough the only thing I didn't like was the room divider. The low season prices are excellent value. Thanks for pics of other condo-I was looking at that one for my stay in May but went for one on other side with great view from 26th floor.I'm also staying in Jomtien for a few nights for first time, in Dancewatchers View Talay 2A -will be in Patts in three weeks.

Uk-Bangkok....the Most And Least You've Ever Paid.......
pauly77 replied to chatkeow's topic in Airline Discussion
I think most I paid was about £520 with Eva Air when they first started up,although it was in the Premium class.Least was £298 a few years ago with Qatar. Been spoilt over the years since Middle East airlines entered the picture, now anything under £500 is good value the way the taxes keep going up. -
Just checked with Netflights and the price of the flight I booked when the 7 day sale was on i.e £468 ex Manchester in May,is showing same price-a week ago it was £100 more. Don't know about other dates or airports but worth checking if you missed out first time.
-
I would like to know also as I am thinking of staying in May at Sabai Empress which is just across from there.

Yes,the food is excellent, good Sunday Roast and the breakfast is top notch and great value when included in nightly rate.Set back from Soi 6 so doesn't get all the noise. And well located to get everywhere.
-
If you have the choice between a taxi and Bell bus depending when you arrive,it's a no brainer,Bell bus every time, door to door service on comfortable bus,no tip involved and save 1000 baht towards your first night in Patts.

I'm flying in May so it will the 330 but for a 6 or 7 hour flight not really bothered.it's 777 on other leg.

The flight in May I booked three days ago for £468 has now shot up to £615,those sale prices don't last too long. -

Temptation was too much for me and I booked trip in May for £468.Just beware Skyscanner site as it throws up Travelpack as cheapest, was going to book with them but googled them for reviews and saw some horror stories,so booked as usual with Netflights. Roll on May!! -
My preferred airline is the one that is best value for money when I want to go-and that has meant Etihad and Qatar over the last few years.Good connecting times,IFE and Doha and Abu Dhabi are o.k. for a couple of hours. If price didn't come into it then I would maybe go for another airline, but from Manchester there are no direct flights.
-
Yes it does look to be pricing itself upwards.I've stayed there a few times and usually paid around 1000 with the stay 8 get one free,or with the member card for 300.1300 plus is too much at the current exchange rate.
-
That looks a decent spread,I like the pots of jam.Worth paying a bit extra for a meal that would keep me going until the evening.
-
Kind of a strange looking room, don't like the pillars around the bed,and the furniture looks dull and dated. Not for me.
-
Certainly looks different from when I was last in that area a couple of years ago, used to stay Sabai Inn and use Lodge pool. The pool area has been redesigned and looks better although smaller with those new buildings going up-nice pics.

For anyone fancying a trip to Patts before Xmas,Etihad have decent prices at the moment.I fly from Manchester and flying out mid Nov,back 9th Dec comes in at £477 with Netflights and £485 direct with Etihad. They now fly twice daily so maybe looking to fill planes. Those are good prices for time of year and good carrier, decent connecting times too.

AA Residence Soi 13 Beach Road
pauly77 replied to Rocketmanbkk's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I stayed there over 10 years aqo, good location but so many newer better value places now.I do remember chasing a giant roach around my room one night. -
Even though I stay down Soi 1/2/3,never really frequented those bars.In any case there are plenty of bars on Second Road stretching from Soi 1 right down to Soi 5,and across the road. There will never be a shortage of bars in Pattaya.

Room, pool, position and quality
pauly77 replied to teelack's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Have stayed Sabai Inn many times, but since Soi2 Inn built next door I would rather stay Summer Spring Soi 1,around 1000 a night when low season promo.Newer spacious rooms, with balcony and nice rooftop pool. -
Usually stay Soi 1/2/3 area for around 1000 a night, but am looking for cheaper options next trip, and LK Mansion seems to fit the bill.Monthly rate of 15000 seems good value for "Junior Deluxe" room.Rooms look o.k. on website, rooftop pool, location within walking distance of Soi 7/8,Soi BK,no joiner fees.No room safe unfortunately,or balcony. Anyone stayed there recently? If so,would appreciate any good/bad comments.Never stayed in any LK places before. Cheers.

Etihad is fine, their connecting times are good, and Abu Dhabi has expanded and perfectly o.k. for a short stopover. If prices were similar I would choose Emirates, but as Etihad/Qatar are usually much cheaper,I go with either of them these days,
-
Loads of baht buses go down Soi 2 - when I stayed Sabai Inn I just stepped outside and one usually arrived within a minute.
-
Used to be even cheaper a couple of years ago. The low season rates are good, the rooms, which I believe have been renovated, are spacious with electronic safe. Standard rooms are on car park side and noisy til 3 a.m.Use of Sabai Lodge pools, and used to get voucher for free daily coffee and cake! Not sure what the Beach Road side is like now as Soi 2 Inn is next door. I do prefer room with balcony now so usually stay Summer Spring on Soi 1 or BJ Lodge on Soi 3. But as a budget option Sabai Inn is a good choice.

I've stayed Summer Spring several times, quiet soi, fair walk down from Second Road but safe enough at night. The reception girls, about 5 of them, were all really cute. negatives were poor tv with no English channels(may be better now), and air con not powerful enough for me. The roof top swimming pool is great, but it can get very windy at times. Excellent value with the promo offer,I would recommend as the rooms are nice and spacious, with balcony.
