  1. Interesting discussion, I might be tempted to look at a condo as I am getting fed up of living far out of town with poor neighbours.I was reading that the Thai end of the market was booming currently as the recent floods persuaded many having a residence in Pattaya was a good idea. I also chatted with a marketing girl and she tried to deter me from buying it for the TGF..(.I was hoping to get a better price.) The off plan prices I was being quoted were high. I have a good friend living in Northshore, and he speaks highly of it.
  2. Yes, Tesco did that to me in Laem Chabang, something going on!

  4. All rather conservative Mick.Fixed term deposits in the UK pay very poor returns these days and I might suggest an alternative. Even a fixed term deposit in Thailand would be better.
  5. Just a matter of time on that one! Soon the baht bus driver will throw a hissy fit if you try and palm one of those off on him. That is where all the 10 baht coins have gone, hidden away by the baht bus drivers for the high season in an effort to force everyone to use a 20 baht note and there be no opportunity for change.
  6. My friend investigated this and found there was no benefit to him. At least he was fortunate to get an honest answer.

  11. I sort of agree with him. It seems to take up a lot of space at the bottom of the page and I misinterpret it as a list of those currently reading the thread.Aha... a collapse button!

  14. I stopped using Skype from Thailand to UK landlines as I could never get a good connection in the past, and I always felt it was a limitation of my TOT ADSL connection. Instead I used a CAT card and my mobile. But recently I went back to my $20 Skype credit and the calls worked fine. I am thinking the AIS wireless aircard is the limiting factor. How about the times you are communicating or her location.... likely the data transmission gets a lower priority/speed if the Thai mobile network is being well used.
  15. Pattayaland 2, Soi 13/4. Later edit. Disregard, he found it. MM, he found it!

  21. Well last year it was certainly a crush getting back from Bali Hai towards Walking St, but my solution was to duck into the first GO-GO.Hardly an issue for me.

  23. That post reminds me of a Charles Dickens character.
  24. Seen them up in the trees on the beach, had a great laugh once when one of those green ones fell down near some guys on deck chairs. Now that I have moved out of town and have a garden I see them all too frequently.
