  1. It would be a little more accurate to say suffered 3 strokes, due to lifestyle, smoking, love of the Great American ribs etc etc. Excercise might well be a benefit.
  2. Thanks for the review, sounds like too much trouble for the savings.Where transfers are involved with another carrier just too likely to go wrong.
  3. Well I hope talk is correct. I didn't need an extra stop in Munich so never considered SQ, but I often chatted to those heading to Singapore in the airport. Might be using SQ economy as I can no longer justify the high Biz class prices.
  4. I think it is a pretty lame idea too, although I am not much the shopping type. Bloody airport is more like a Mall these days and you struggle to get to the gate going around display cabinets of overpriced crap.
  5. Barry Humphries
  6. Well last year there was a pretty good evening, super fireworks and yes there will be the big fireworks/shindig on the beach...but.....Very very crowded, quite chaotic, and to be honest, with a lot of drunken twats in the mix perhaps a bit dangerous to have kids with you, I would worry about losing them. So don't think of going to Bali Hai pier, but if you can get a good spot on the beach I think it would be good. I am expecting there to be even more people here this year. I might stay home!
  7. Well CAT sell calling cards for example.... and once used the system logs your number and attaches it to the say 500 baht credit. The old fashioned thing where you have to type in loads of numbers. But valkyrie was describing a TRUE SIM.
  8. Meatloaf
  9. Bring back the special one........?
  10. oops, I think it is 00944....
  11. Helena Bonham Carter.
  12. Risk getting busted for what?
  13. Or the regular overnighter might be less trustworthy than thought....
  14. Must be the old one..... Clair Bloom.
  15. Well the reality was I had the cards a week or so later. And have used them in Thailand at Homeworks and Carrefour, easy peasy. But, as I posted elsewhere, the real reason I wanted them was to pay for flight tickets on-line, in Thai baht, the currency the cost came up in. The cards didn't work..... Not sure if I want to try them in the UK when I am there, they might get swallowed. I am inclined to think farangs don't get the permission to send baht out of Thailand via CC. I did get a sufficient limit though (200k...)Neither are they paid off in installments, but in entirety, automatically, at the month's end. (I prefer that and required it.) Means I not only have a chunk in the fixed term deposit, but need to ensure the savings account has enough in there to support the CCs.
  16. It is a rather specialised market.Men only dancing around in a big circle waving a sword in the air isn't everyone's cup of tea.
  17. Well the good news is that I am on the Qatar flight next trip.
  18. Anne Bancroft.
  19. Our Julie..... Julie Andrews.
  20. I sort of agree, whether or not credited is not in the rules on the OP, which I copied over from the other same type thread. I think I got into shit over Tarrantino in 'Kill Bill' where rumour has it he was one of the dead in the bar scene...(who knows FS).Besides, if you recall seeing someone do a cameo in a movie, you may not know whether they were credited or not without 'cheating'? Then we can get into fun discussions. So surely 'Any Given Sunday' is a valid post? Cat, pigeons.... Any Given Sunday. Anyhow I like how Localyokul actually started afresh with that so let's carry on in the part VI thread??
  21. The info you have is about right. But it has been a funny year so far. No real extended hot season and a lot of rain in those normally dry months. Currently sunny and hot in the Pattaya area but a lot of rain North and West. Don't let the weather worry you, the rain is normally fast and furious but over with quickly.
  22. Would that not be according to schedule, and you were at a different terminal? They often push you back early before 'ready' as it improves the statistics! My flights with Ethiad were fine leaving Manchester, I just found the Abu Dhabi transit a bit chaotic and cramped.
  23. And there are many countries that allow a foreigner to own land outright. And others where lawyers are there to protect you. And where your kids are not thrown in wells. The original comment was that $1,200,000 was a lot of money for a foreigner to risk particularly in a country where he/she can never have title to the land, and where the corruption index is worse than India and Panama.
  24. The pool is rather small and crowded at the Lek. The Hardrock seemss to have the biggest but I am unsure if OP wants to swim laps requiring a big empty pool. The second pool at the RG is not particularly big but often quiet as it is a shaded area, well sometimes it is full of theses rubber fetish types.
