If I buy a bottle of beer or can of coke on the beach, I expect the deckchair operator should clear up the empties. A small trash can near the chairs might work too. I have not seen many trash cans on the beach itself.... there are perhaps some up on the promenade, packed full, and I fear stuffing something in there for whatever might reside there.

By coincidence Dontcha I walked down Beach Rd last night and thought the beaches were disgusting and the worst I have ever seen them. I am used to seeing spilled blue trash cans off the beaten path... and dumped rubbish, but the beaches are their source of income and you would expect more effort. Even sailed through a 'floating island' of rubbish on the way to beautiful Koh Tao. It will be blamed on the tourists.. who apparently arrive at the airport with suitcases full of trash to leave on the beaches.

I've had the same there and even worse, I paid a lot for it!

Darn it was cool when I opened the door this morning.Checked the thermometer and it said 23 degC.... temperatures I only see in Early January.......... The TGF says it is 18 in Bangkok and they all think they woke up in the hills....... Quite refreshing.

To the OP, yes the lobster and the tiger prawns are silly prices in the seafood restaurants over the sea on Walking St. Particularly on Valentines day, when filled with romantic sods who want to spend $250 before they die on their sweethearts. Prices have come a long way since I had a lobster dinner in 1985 for $20. On regular days lobsters can go on special for 2000 baht. I use restaurants off the WS and things are much cheaper, although these days the big mud crabs and lobster can be a lot even at those places. They sell them where they can get the most, of course. Even in the Thai community there are plenty of guys out to impress their gals.

Well it is a little bit less than that, more like 9 hours. I agree with your comaparison, it is like what Costa Del Sol was to British and German holidaymakers in the mid-70s. There is obviously a well organised marketing and package tour organisation in Russia for Bangkok. Thailand, and a few neighbours, are visa free for Russians too, that will help. They aren't only in Pattaya, I came across a lot flying out of Bangkok on Air Asia, off to Malaysia.

And raining last night, during the night and again this morning. A nice 25 degC outside, very pleasant.

Well not the last few days it isn't...... wetter, and without the Songkran.A bit of an oddball the weather in the Pattaya region this last month, awoke to thunder this morning, rain yesterday. Quite an improvement over the building heat I expected... I have booked similar for next year.
