  1. Paying for BA Biz Class to and from Bangkok recently. They really let me down on the shuttles to and from Manchester which were an awful experience which made me feel I had cloven hoofs.
  2. What has your nagging got to do with house prices? Subject is 'No Deal Brexit...'.
  3. I feed my laptop to the TV via HDMI, and for my small pad I bought some bluetooth/ wireless earphones which obviously have their own battery. Plug in is not loud enough, particularly on a plane where I wanted to watch videos. (If you fly BA on their ancient equipment you need to bring your own IFE).
  4. I see no charges were brought for them attacking the Man City team coach!
  5. I was informed by my driver that Mr Toom died early in August with liver problems at 49. His son and a partner have taken over the business and no changes of contact details. As usual I booked for my pickup on arrival at Swampy via email, no problems. You have to accompany the driver to the car park and maybe shuffle vehicles to get out but that is standard. Fare from airport to Pattaya area 1200 baht, including all, ie his parking, and the now 100 baht motorway toll. New vehicle this time.
  6. Possibly prices will drop but 35% seems a lot.... when prices fall for other things it is usually a good thing! Yes some may get stuck with negative equity.. is that what we call having a mortgage bigger than the house value? I would expect supply and demand to keep pushing them up myself.
  7. Well the BBC may as well get in on the act..... UK driving licence 'may not be valid in EU' after no-deal Brexit Good, the UK should get rid of those drunk Polish truck drivers who are causing motorway accidents....
  8. Used before, July 2017.
  9. Sky News appear to be fear mongering..... “It is misleading for Sky News to say that 35,000 pilots would need to renew their pilot's licence in a 'no-deal' Brexit scenario. Both commercial and private UK pilot licences would remain valid for use on UK-registered aircraft as the United Kingdom is a signatory to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Chicago Convention. Our licences are internationally recognised - including by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) - both now and after 29 March 2019." Source.CAA
  10. Once Upon a Time in the West.
  11. Yes, and now we can get back into my lifetime..... On Golden Pond
  12. Antibiotics can be bought over the counter.
  13. Walk on the Wild Side.
  14. Flying in and out of the country?
  15. Yes, it does appear faster this morning.
  16. In the UK, women are bloody fat here!

Black spandex pulled over a huge ass and belly, with attitude to boot.

  17. I have just flown BA Biz Class BKK-LHR, not very impressed with the ancient B777-200ER, or the service. Difficult to relax with people walking past catching your arm for over 12 hours. Not enough toilets. Seats are poor and cramped. It is direct which may suit many. Prices ex-UK are much cheaper and I would prefer to pay some 300 quid more and be on an Emirates A380.
  18. Well they do hassle you if you are driving and cannot produce a valid licence, be it Thai or an IDP. As to passport, if someone blathers on about carrying a laminated copy one more time, I will have the screaming ab-dabs. I have lived in Thailand 14 years and never been stopped on foot and asked to produce a passport. I was driving up near northern borders when asked at road blocks in my early years here. There are relevant passport pics in my phone, but never needed those either. Giving the corrupt dickheads on the roads the tools to extort me of thousands because I have been absent minded is what I have issue with, when 7 year olds are driving around.

  20. The complaint is having to have it on you, and the size of the fine. Previously it might have been 400 baht or less if paid 'on the spot'.... talking thousands is pure bullshit and blatantly directed at getting money off tourists. Thais who don't have a licence won't be paying that much. Keep it in your wallet you might say, but sometimes I don't take my wallet out, especially on drinking nights, just take some cash. A civilized country would give you an opportunity to produce it within 7 days at a police station. I have already had an experience on this, I made a copy of my licence and left the original on my copier, copy is no good so noddy falang toy policeman gave me aggravation.

  22. BA require you to pay to select the seats... probably depending on the booking class. I could log into my BA booking and book a seat free within 24hrs of the flight, and pre-check-in. I did, and there wasn't a single alternative seat open!

  24. Songraews pick up and drop off there, trucks deliver to the Family Mart and 7-11, all adding to the chaos. I sometimes use the small lane off soi 15, at the 7-11, down by The Pride condo and onto Diana at the Hole in One bar, and then LK Metro to get round it.
  25. He never does more than 3 seasons, he is unlikely to stay much more of this one. Lucrative game he plays....
