  1. I said nothing about comprehension. Just a layman. I have worked in the medical field but I am not a physician. My advice on this comes strictly from the point of view of a consumer of services. Now that I understand your background, I can stop offering you advice. You know and understand far more than I do.
  2. I have monovision also. Because of astigmatisms I still have glasses for distance but unlike most geezers, I can read without correction (one eye). I am at the keyboard now. I look at the screen with both eyes but my left eye does the reading.
  3. If a doctor's specialty is involved, they will recommend that. Just saying. Do your homework in advance. Know everything about the procedure and the post op that you can. Read negative reviews, not for that doctor but for the procedure. Have the negatives ready to lay on the doctor in your consultation. If he doesn't convince you, seek yet another opinion. Don't rush. Also, when I had cataract surgery on both eyes and when my daughter had PRK on both eyes they did one eye and then you come back later to do the second. Infection concerns.
  4. Great one BD And the Hollies and Buffalo Springfield begat CSN (CSNY).... hilarious That could be an entire topic lol
  5. Which way does the laptop go in?
  6. Well, that is what some think. Some attributed it to heroin also. "So besides their denials, honestly, the origin of the band’s name is pretty clear – John Sebastian attributed it to a musician friend of his named Fritz Richmond (like Sebastian, Richmond was involved in a “jugband” style of music), taking the name from a song lyric of Mississippi John Hurt’s classic blues song, “Coffee Blues.” I will take John Sebastian's word for it. Still, the lyrics are mildly suggestive if one wants to read that into it. Mississippi John Hurt's Coffee Blues This is the 'Coffee Blu
  7. clever. People will immediately assume a question by ignoring the punctuation at the end.
  8. Always a pleasure. Here is a King Crimson classic. I think one of their members went on to be part of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I think it was the late Greg Lake.
  9. I have never heard of that by Genesis. Two albums released by them in those two years, The second has The Carpet Crawlers, a fantasy. Here's the genesis discography scroll down in each album link for songs on the albums. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genesis_discography
  10. Yes. When things start to open up, the timing will be important. I just read an article in a AAA periodical that described how they see the modified cruise line industry opening up. As to hotels, I guess it is also prudent to keep checking their sites for room availability. Not all hotels will open at the same time and if they open how much capacity. Flights I think will be the easiest. Nothing can happen from a practical standpoint until countries in question are on the same page. Plenty of things to juggle. It will be worth the effort.
  11. That's cool. Lots of the limited folks will wander in. It should be a great evening.
  12. Oh good. I was starting to get bored.
  13. The Testicles of Rama. I touched them without knowing what they were. They really shouldn't shave them!
  14. There are mnemonic helpers for every situation or nobody would pass any science class. Some of it is just plain old memorization. See forcebwithu above.
  15. MLK's "I Have A Dream Speech" This is great!
  16. This is the story of a river's journey from its origin in the mountains, through Prague until it s confluence with the Elbe. The Czech Republic's longest river, they call it the Vltava and the Germans call it the (die) Maldau. The song is die Maldau by Smetana.
  17. WTF is was Alice? This is my favorite song on this double LP. This album I believe marked the pinnacle of John's studio career.
  18. I agree that any amount approaching or more than a person earns on their job is a disincentive to looking for a job. I would rather have that approach to stimulating the economy (including the one time $1200 check - even this Social Security beneficiary got one) than the approach during the mortgage/banking crisis over a decade ago where they gave banks the money and allowed mortgage holders to lose their homes. I thought then that those who were victims of predatory loans should have gotten the bailout. The banks would have gotten loans paid back and people wouldn't have lost their homes.
  19. 62 is early. You can't get full Social Security until you are closer to 70 and you aren't eligible for Medicare until 65. I retired before 65. I paid my own health insurance premium and lived on my own money for a while.
  20. I retired early as well and likewise have no problems occupying my time.
  21. On another post, a member was looking for help finding a good VPN. I wish I could have helped. I don't understand anything after VPL.
