You're a happy chap aren't you. perhaps 'Partners' was/is the wrong impression but when I wnet to the Thai Festival last year in London, the Thai Air stand had WestEast staff on it who both said that they work in partnership with each other. Thats what I was told, but I guess you may know different. Its a very minor issue in my post which was mean't to just emphasise that WestEast INHO are best for price for LHR-BKK
-
West East are best IMHO, always use them and can't be beaten on price. they are partners with Thai Air. Just check things like flexibility of ticket/refund details as this can be pricey if not discussed first as sometimes an flexible fare can only cost an extra £20 or so. Don't worry about them, they will look after you in regards of best price.

Well well well, I live 400 metres from bristol Zoo and never knew of this (not that I should, though) !! Where is the story published and/or authenticated? http://criswarren.blogspot.com/2007/04/more-urban-myths.html

A good, funny read. Thanks.

A really good, succint report provides all the relevant info for an interested guest. I've eaten there, good food, good prices.

Fuck em. Arseholes that they are. 2000b a night with loads of empty beds. They should do a 1 month rate for 30,000 -
I don't use Areca anymore as I'm happy with an apartment type accommodation uder 1000b but at 1120b per night and IF you use teh facilities (and brekkie) that Areca provide, I reckon thats ok really. Once you factor in the price of a breakfast your hitting 1000b for the room + facilities.

I don't reckon. EVA fly one flight from LHR to BKK on a modern 777 with great entertainment at a decent price. On the other hand, THAI offer two flights on old airplanes at a similar price. My money (so to speak) is on THAI reducing flight prices or more likely only offering 1 flight per day between LHR - BKK.

I've used T and Toom not sure why I differ, think its just whose number i see first. Both Good although T is cheaper. Used Mr T last trip, pick up from airport and return. Very good, on time both journeys. Car ok. Airport to Pattaya took 1hour 20 mins with no hold ups and no speeding driver. Overall. Very happy

These guys just popped up on my regular travel agents as very cheap, so I'm interested to know too. Via Hong Kong, so approx 14.5 hrs total travel time from LHR?

Thanks for that. She's 7 years old, so no chance.

You legend, if you have the email address for her that could be handy, rather than writing. thanks At least I can get a quick reply (hopefully)

Chivas, Many thanks. I'll have a go. Don't want to say too much to them which isn't true as they may ask for evidence i.e doctors certifcation ec. Worth a try though.

told them that she has a better offer and my parents are taking her to Aus instead.

After some advice guys, Go my ticket for 23rd Oct with EVA Air departing at 9.35pm from Heathrow. Booked my daughter on same flight, her ticket was £522 through WestEast Travel. She is not now going and cancelling her ticket. The sods have offered me refund of taxes as her ticket was so restrictive with no cancellations etc. Ok, so I'm losing £360 and getting abck £160 in tax. I have been trying to get WestEast to talk to EVA about 'softening the blow' of losing all this money and getting me an upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy or Business (may as well ask eh!). No joy so far. Anyone got any tips for an upgrade under my particular circumstances. Responses welcome, but nowt too rude please lads. Thanks in Advance.

Good luck to the bloke. Top man and great host.

I wish have a good second trip!!! -
Not sure if the OP is based in UK, but I transfer from my HSBC Bank into my Bangkok Bank and get charged a flt fee of £21 (1300 on any amount. I'm sure most banks are the same. It takes a couple of days to land in the a/c and is always there. You do get asked sometimes for the reason of the transfer but you can put down holiday money, vehicle purchase or condo purchase if its a large amount. Safest way for me, although I always carry some cash as well.

My (English) mate stays there every time he goes to Patts. He lives just outside Korat with his Thai lady and swears by Sunview. He rates it and suggest asking for the bigger rooms as they are much better and only somthing like 200b dearer. Great location on Soi Bukhao and dscreet, away from the prying eyes of most bar girls who you don't want to parade the nights new love in front of. I'm thinking of staying there in April.

Try Abu Saeed - top of road by Marine, next to a 7 - 11 store. Top Middle Eastern food run by a miserable fucking turk and full of the horrible cunts but TOP QUALITY food. I eat there at least 3 times a week when in Patts

Just a thought and only 1 hour drive form Cardiff, have you tried KLM from Bristol to Amsterdam then pick up China Airlines to BKK. An option and generally not too dear. An option worth considering - try Travelabg website. -
Good thread, perfect timing Mirkwood as I'm looking at condo's in View Talay 5 'D'. Will watch this thread with great interest. Having said that the elections in 3 weeks may be crucial and only after that will we then know what direction that the country intends going in

Some great photos Adam, sure looked like a good one. Does anyone else think that Colin aka Disco Col or Dirty Disco looks like the Irish comedian Darra O'Brien??? - That is a compliement Col -
I'm impartial on this one but I agree with the last few posts, lets move on from a personal slanging match and get back on topic and see how it develops. However, I fear that the topic may have already been tainted and few people will now read/post. Sad really.
