Microsoft have activated the "Windows genuine advantage" system on many many computers recently. Basically this does a really annoying pop-up and hounds you to register or put in a serial number. The get around is to restart your computer in safe mode (usually f8 before boot-up) and search for the "wga" files in the registry. If your unsure where they are then do a search on google for a page that will show you.

Im just back in the uk myself and Emirates (to dubai) had overbooked the flight also! Nice free upgrade to biz class! (although the grass is always greener when you can see through the curtains to first class...grrrrrr Incidently this aint the first time emirates have upgraded me (its getting a bit of a habit with them). Some tips i have heard for upgrade are: travel alone be polite be smartly dressed arrive late-ish have frequent flyer card Last time i was 1 seat away from 600pounds comp and a free dubai return (unfortunately someone never turned up and they didn

Its not the rental that will kill you ..its the key money that will set you back a fortune. (especially for this area). If you look at distant sois with a lower customer base then you can be anything from 100,000 to 300,000 baht key money and rental maybe as low as 10,000 per month for a unit the size you need. As always in this town, there is every price in between so youll get a dozen more replies with huge variations so its a very difficult question to answer accurately.

I checked this out a few days ago and there are a few cheapies around. The downside is that you have to plan your journey as far as october this year. They obviously make it difficult to bag a double cheapo (out and return) but i did find a few. i.e Bkk to krabi 500baht return(stay 6days) (thats tax and everything included) and a bkk to udon thani 230baht return (stay 3 day). Also a 6000baht return KL to perth (7day stay) You need to juggle the dates for a while but there are gems in there

I knew you could go to the lotus and get the public bus. I only suggested Ekamai as its a no-brainer for someone that gets in post 7pm and doesnt want to stand around streets etc looking for bus numbers they dont know. The ekamai bus is easy from airport bus terminal and then the direct motorway pattaya bus from ekamai is easy too. Just options!

I believe the bus she is talking about is the Yellow airport bus that does the journey from Jomtien soi chayapreuk to the airport bus terminal. 2 points if it is this one: On the return journey (i.e swampy to patts/jomtien) you have to ask the driver to let you off at one of the sukumvit lights...i.e pattaya north, klang or south etc. Unless you ask they will just take you straight to jomtien. Also note that i think they may have changed there pick-up/drop off points. It used to be the airport bus terminal but i seen the bus pull up to the departures area (beside the bell bus) so i

Club Misty's "Fight The Credit Crunch Campaign!"
vidman replied to PSP's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Good that some gogo owners are addressing the credit crunch! The 2 week millionaires will never worry about cost but the expat regulars need a little help with the poor pension exchange rate etc. 1 point to make is that Pattaya is in a scenario of "slow-boiling the frog". By that i mean that the costs in Pattaya have slowly sneaked up and every one just accepts it now. I have just returned from Bali a few days ago and the prices there are stupidly low. In a top nightclub a bottle of beer will set you back approx 40baht and a pepper steak meal in a nice restuarant is 60baht!!!!! -
I personally havent transferred super 8 myself but i believe there are 2 ways to get the job done. first one is to purchase a film transfer machine (i believe elmo models are available on ebay). This basically projects the movie onto a ccd and digitises it. Then its just a matter of authoring a DVD with the produced AVI file. The other method is cheaper in that you just use your existing projector and setup a dv cam on a tripod and record/or run dirctly into capture via firewire cable. Then author DVD with your chosen program such as encore. Some problems may arise with the shutter

TOT sent me their monthly news letter and they are running a trial just now where the whole of beach rd has a wifi signal. They ran it free for the last 2 months but now i think the commercial service will be up and running. Its always an alternative to the slow EDGE system stated above.

I believe the restuarant owner was the old owner of Blues Factory many moons ago.

Monthly rent a studio 5000 baht range
vidman replied to sanuk scouser's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
It will be a balancing act of distance/facilities and cost. Whereas 1 might be good they other 2 wont be etc etc. Personally i stay not far from the Bongkot area as one poster suggested. It is a stone throw from south rd. 6000baht (and usually 1000 electric). The good news is it has swimming pool, 24hr security, lift, net cafe, snooker, sauna and thai-priced restuarant all built into the condo block! The condos are all falang style with Balcony,tv,air, fridge and hot shower etc. In theory you could get the south rd baht bus route cheaply although i would suggest hiring a bike. -
Absolutely no help for you whatsoever but i see that Air Asia will open a new office in the new central shopping on beach Rd. Hopefully in the future it will make contact easier.

Lost my job a few days before Pattaya--Trip delayed
vidman replied to cebual's topic in Idle Chit Chat
Take your holiday and take time to think of your next move. Try to look at this as not a door closing but a doorway to your new life. If your present career doesnt look like any re-hiring prospects then its time for a re-train. Dont be scared to go back to education and then start out self-employed in your chosen field. The world really can be your oyster but positive thinking will kick it off whilst negative thinking will do you no good. I know its easier said than done and even at 50, its a scary world out there but the rewards will be great when you achieve your next planned st -

No wonder so many blokes jump out the window/off the balcony in this town. Would we stay in a joint like this in our home countries?

Carrefour are doing a dvd player with a USB socket in the front for 760baht....a bargain. Why the usb...well you can download uk tv from bittorrent sites and do a quick transfer onto a flash dongle then stick it into your dvd usb slot and hey presto..uk tv on your tv screen.

Every night there are numerous contenders on Walking St that could only be described as "odd couples"!!!!

Personally it would be better to pay the small extra and go by emirates rather than the air-asia one. Even in wooden class you will get personal tv screen and better food. Room-wise probably asiarooms.com has a reasonable selection.....make no mistake..its gonna be small. The last one i stayed in i opened the door and fell out the window!

EXTREME blizzard forecast for TQ2 Pattaya
vidman replied to rightsaid's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
My GF made the comment "how they can do? If they open door all the stuff fall out" Well passed by that evening and a simple solution was that they built a little staircase at the door which kept all the "snow" in Great concept guys. -
