  1. Telling who gave you the £195 quote might narrow the field
  2. LOL So scouring my historical post and you come up with this as an example of me emulating the disjointed responses to the OP of this thread Seriously in that instance hardly a genuine question asked - just an invitation for derision
  3. Know better than what exactly? Going off tangentially to what was written? errr not since early junior school I'm afraid.
  4. Seems pretty clear he wanted private secure off road basic training on a 'manual' beginner m/c administered by a commercial school (presumably as a convenient, and maybe cheaper, prelude to commencing formal training in his home country). AFAIK a very tall order in Pattaya
  5. Well the advise he asked for contained very clear caveats which most seem incapable of comprehending. Thus spawned the gripes
  6. Well, when the sky falls.........
  7. Many times During daytime the service can be very hit and miss But food always good and hot enough to peel paint coincidentally just watched a youtube vlogger giving it an 8min review (likely the same as OP mentions). How do these gumps perpetuate? This one can't even pronounce the city he's poncing off and doesn't even know where he is (at the restaurant) !!
  8. I always used to like the one on North Road https://goo.gl/maps/9oekvv8Xte22
  9. Great stuff till someone has a heart attack as sues the bejeesus outta them
  10. There's a crew of builders down the road from me who'd be put to shame by the industriousness of these hammer wielders
  11. Much the same (but more bodies) Banal movie with YouTube stolen fake crashes (all perpetrated by farangs). Illegible subtitles on a TV from someone's cast offs (I have larger PC monitor). I did wonder about the fail twice, come back tomorrow rationale - can defective depth perception be cured overnight? (Maybe a special spell or incantation from a Mor Doo)
  12. Did this yesterday Photos above look positively civilised by comparison to the milling throngs of people I had to endure. Was what I imagine a Chinese fire drill to be like
  13. I fail to follow the 'Ooh I couldnt have one because what if I lost it' credo do the exponents of this apply it to money, credit cards, keys, tickets, watches, guns, etc etc etc as well
  14. Yes a little less VAT but UK wise you likely cannot get a like for like model anyhow so its academic. Personally, I wouldn't consider a phone without dual SIM function (pre-smartphone era I actually used a quad SIM) Ask a mobile phone salesperson about their range of dual SIM phones in the UK and they'll need a lie down in a dark room Two SIMs one Thai / one home, never miss a OTP from the bank, or any other necessary communications
  15. Went the way of most Thai 'knee jerk' wonder solutions
  16. Just as a point of interest I did two transfers yesterday One from USA the other from Germany In both cases got just ABOVE the published XE rates Both landed simultaneously into my Thai bank account at 1pm today (Thai time)
  17. Mmm walking on/ putting your feet on images of the king could well fast track you to Emergency Admissions
  18. I'd hazard a guess that those are the HSBC exchange rates HAD YOU have nominated sending in THB. To assure yourself check Kasikorn's rates from themselves (43.7650 as we speak) I find Transferwise as quick or better than UK bank transfers. Though admittedly I use their Borderless Account Service and have made transfers from other countries than the UK. In my experience they are wholly transparent what you see quoted on line is exactly what drops into your Thai account (no receive fee as it comes from their Thai Bank account)
  19. Mmm Putting words in mouths now Read what I said "Years of dealing with retarded taxi people who say one thing then turn up with a smaller vehicle lead me to ironing this well out first" I may be guilty of using 'retarded' as a yardstick in my own dealings (and therefore reducing the propensity to getting subsequently bitten by unforeseen stupidity) but I wasn't conscious of applying the epithet directly to the vaunted "Nam".
  20. Fortuna will cut it (3 x 32kg suitcases, 1 x wheelalong carry-on and 1 x large laptop bag swamps most taxis) Strange not to show the vehicles on the website though
  21. I'll be the judge of that SUV covers a multitude of models and therefore sizes Years of dealing with retarded taxi people who say one thing then turn up with a smaller vehicle lead me to ironing this well out first And as a retort to your know all comment when travelling alone with anything approaching the luggage allowed you definitely DO need it (or bigger)
  22. No photos on the website Does anyone have a clue as to what the advertised in the price list "SUV" is?
  23. & to avoid the ME
  24. AFAIK they'll have no competition for direct flights
