Hi there There are other things to consider aprt from what you mention,i.e. swimming pool proximity to night life noise etc. Anyway I will answer from experience. Hotel bella vista between Soi7 and 8 good priced around 700-800 low season Tropical Berts not a hotel but good accomodation its rooms above a bar which has no loud music and closes around 11-12 again similar price. Chaba hut resort Soi Boakhow pattaya very quiet and not too far from the entertainment has swimming pool 900-1000 low season. Eastiny Plaza right in the middle of entertainment at Soi 8 pool good rooms fairly new and a terrific buffet supper appx 200 thb low season and offers appx 1100-1200 thb. hope this is of some help to you. When are you going anyway I will be there around mid april to mid may. Enjoy the fun.

Hello everyone Can anyone tell me if its possible to buy a scooter and export it to the UK ? I normally book through Dial A Flight and use Etihad and I get a ticket which I can change the return leg for a fee of £75. Cannot be done before you go but when out there you can change it. I will be doing it this time in Nov !

I agree with mancon stick together lads against shits like this and teach them a lesson. Anyway theres plenty more places there in Pats more deserving of our hard earned bhat. Hi I normally use Dial A Flight and squeeze a good deal out of them. I got to know a lad there and use him all the time and I normally get a good deal. Now to the point during my negotiating recently I mentioned to him that I could get a better deal with China Air his remark was you would not want to fly with that airline! I asked why and he said that as I had used the middle east airlines before I would notice a big difference in standards! Hope that helps. Eithad are quite reasonable at the moment but through a travel agent their web site these days dont seem to be making it.

Could be, but it also suits the Irish coming accross as well, due to the connection times. I know Eithad fly from Dublin but for us Northerners its a long way down and also the value of the pound against the euro at the minute its another reason. I know I have done it this way quite a few times. Eithad also offer quite often extra air miles bonuses like double and triple !

I have done the bangkok manila with cebu the cheapest airline by far ! although the times are crap I think it leaves bkk at 0130 and arrives in manila at 0525 roughly. Then its a 1.5 - 2 hr journey by taxi at a cost of between 2300 and 2600 pesos. I have just recently done the Bkk to Kula lumper although you have to stay overnight as its a very early morning flight 7ish I think but as its international you have to be at the airport that bit earlier. The only good thing about this is that it takes you straight into Clark. So my friend the choice is yours ! as for the nightlife in Manila previously mentioned I cannot comment. I can only tell you of a time when I travelled there from Bkk and was on my taxi journey down when we got a flat wheel within the city limits and the driver refused to stop for another 3/4 of an hour due to the area not being safe!! As for Angeles city well you will enjoy it so go there by all means whatever way you travel!

Good point SB I have been trying around and can put southall in a very large group of what would appear false advertising cheap flights companies A1 also! I am just back but being a greedy brute I want to head back possibly in July if I get the right deal. Do not forget the exit money if its the same as PPen its $25. This I know as I am just back from 4 wks in Asia. I appreciate you may want to see Ankar Wot, but it will be my choice not to return to Cambodia. I spent 3 days there and well I felt it a waste apart from seeing the Killing Fields and the school come prison which was all very sad and tearful.

Hi B Yes I agree with the others. I too have flown many tmes with Eithad they are excellent food wise service wise and planes good. Do howvever be aware that they also have some long stop overs in Abu and checki your flight confirmation. The reason I say this is that I booked in july for the short stop over flight in November. Got the confirmation in and glanced through it however nearer the time I got a change of times due to winter schedule (minutes only really) and thought nothing more of it. I should have looked at the check my flight at the bottom of the confirmation which showed I had been changed to a long stop over on one part. Howver let me make it quite clear I rang Eithad at their office in Manchester and nothing was a problem to them I got my flight changed ok I was flexible and wanted to stay a few more days. Anyway I would use them again and tried to this april but Emirates through dial a flight came in a good bit cheaper. So enjoy your trip.

Yes Adolfs I had a similar experience there back in Nov last year. I heard so much about this club I had to visit and had exactly the same job done on me as you I just accidently spilled my beer and walked out its a real shit hole. I went in next door and had the time of my life watching a show by the girls who had several members of a visiting Japanese group on stage. What a laugh

Hi all Yes I have been trying the airlines this past couple of years and have now settled to Etihad going from Manchester. I flew with them last Nov and booked the same again this nov flight schedules are the same ie leaving Man at 1000 arriving bkk 0710. Having flown Thai in april never again comparing the two (well there is no comparison) staff on both were excellent but thats were it stops. Thai planes antiquated with worn out seats and usless entertainment also substandard food in comparison to that of Etihad. On Etihad the food the individual entertainment system and seating and I mean all in economy are excellent.

Hi Bill Have not looked yet as I have booked my nov flights with Etihad to include emergency exit seats all the way there and back from man on line at £455. When I was booking there was a slightly cheaper option but it involved long stop overs!!!!!!!

Just back from LOS where I bought a bog standard neat little nokia phone. I got a Thai sim card put in for use there. I had about 70bht left when I returned to Northern Ireland so I switched on the phone and discovered it actually works to sms thailand without putting in codes etc it was just as on hols. The network seems to switch over to either vodafone uk or T Mobile. Can anyone tell me is it possible to top up this card here? it seems to be appx 15 bht an sms at the minute from what I have left. The other thing I have tried to ring home using the normal std code etc from this phone but it tells me there is no authorisation for this number. All help gratefully appreciated. (oh and yes I am in a state of depression again coming home!!! )

Well lads I have read a lot in fact too much of this slagging off the hotels. I go to thailand to enjoy myself :-) not act as a scout for a travel agent ! Just accept a hotel which does not come up to your individual requirement as an experience and move on! Life is really but a blink of an eye and I would rather get to enjoy more of it before it closes (the eye that is lol) than worry about holiday accomodation, thats easily changed at any point. The only thing more have to add is I have stayed in Flipper Lodge in Soy 8 a few times and its good and right in the middle of it and I know it and accept it for the buzzzing place that it is! Oh and did I forget to say I am off to los in under 2 weeks ah lovely.

Just got an email this minute the AIRLINENETWORK.CO.UK having a sale I checked some of them out and it appears good! especially Qatar during April!!!
