  1. Jacko can you post a picture of yours and ill see if i have a spare one the same
  2. It was just a standard fire drill at one of the big hotels, no need to blow shit out of proportion
  3. Yes it is, but the guy whos number i gave you does NOT work there. Maybe you could get the GF to call him and ask him if he has any spare. If he dont, im sure i got a few here that i no longer need and you are welcome to them
  4. You can get them from a place on Sukhomvit Rd just before the Chevrolet Dealer heading towards Pattaya Nua. I would get your GF to call him first and see if he has a few spare. He is a really good guy and very helpful. I bought some from the place i listed above and they were about 2000 Baht each. Im sure Ot would get them for you alot cheaper
  5. Jacko I just had a new motor fitted at my house and had the existing remotes programmed to suit, this guy is very very good, his name is Ot and his number is 083 80744 30 Cant recommend him enough
  6. I recently stayed there for two nights while having some work done at home, i was very pleasantly surprised at how the staff remember me form my last stay there 8 YEARS AGO. The room was nice and had flat screen TV etc. The bed mattress is now nice and comfortable, showers still excellent and the food at the BBQ buffet is very good. We ate one night at Altos across the road opposite and it is shite, give that place a wide berth. But the Residence hotel is still excellent and staff are still excellent.
  7. The guy is from Pakistan, good food and large portions
  8. You would have to be very lucky to find anything any where in Pattaya for 10 K per month including electric and water
  9. The Chinese own most of the world because the rest of the world have been buying their cheaply made crap for years and now cannot afford not to. The Chinese are the best business people in the world with more and more millionaires there than any where else - good luck to them. As to the article, it is clearly about cost saving so they dont have to pay for the best expertise money can buy, and they say they "prefer" the Asian who was educated in the West. I dont think they are making the best decision as they are thinking they will get the Asian candidate who has the Western education,
  10. I understand, if it also helps, there are a few "Boots" around town and a very good one in Walking Street as you enter on the left hand side.
  11. A good question, but can't you bring them with you when you travel? Many of the places here are selling copies or Thai equivalent and many of those are not so good. Surely your diabetes medication should be brought with you from the USA? For me personally, if i need any medication and i am just getting over a bad case of Bronchitis - i only go to Dr Olivier who is the only "allowed" farang doctor in Pattaya. He keeps a good and genuine stock of pills etc.
  12. All in about 1800 - 2200 baht, can be a bit more depending which place you go to play
  13. I took my wife into the Blues Factory one time and thought she would not like it.... How wrong was i, she loves the place and wants to go there every time we go out together. For anyone who has not been there, i can highly recommend it
  14. Burgers from "Bobs BBQ" when it was around - really nasty
  15. No doctors prescrition required, most Pharmacies will supply it, there is one on 2nd rd next to Tims by "The Avenue" that is popular
  16. For the filters, there is a place along Sukhomvit Road - heading North on your left just before you turn left onto Pattaya Nua (North)
  17. The ferry stopped some time back. It was expensive also at about 3500 baht each way!! Now much cheaper and quicker to go by mini bus from outside the temple on South Pattaya Rd. Mini bus to Monument 100 baht, takes about 2 hours and then change to a mini bus to Hua Hin, about 280 baht, takes about 3 hours. Same on the way back. Mini buses usually leave every 15 - 30 minutes
  18. My friend and i went with our partners for a massage along soi excite today and then after spent a few hours in this bar. It is a good place to just sit/drink and chill. Nice crowd of people in there and service is very good and quick. No hostess's - no hasles. Has a few large TVs around to watch some footie and plenty of places around for food if you are hungry. Overall, i will go back to just sit around and chill in the afternoons. Happy hour from about 8am until 10pm. Two for one on just about every drink. Happy days.
  19. If the tank is really dirty, you really do need to literally "scrub it" after you have flushed it out it would be good if you can work out the capacity of the tank and then take 3 - 5% mixture of either Calcium HyperChloride or Milton ( household bleach will do ) add this to a full take and leave it to stand for about 6 hours, then empty the tank and re fill. All of this will kill any bacteria and microorganisms. I do not suggest you drink the water from the tank unless it is plastic and has a sealed lid
  20. Not frustrating for me, i have work in the Middle East, i dont think i could work in Thailand, too many distractions Yeah, the airport was the most corrupt building site in the world at the time - priceless. Just look at the great job they made of the taxi way and the unfinished interior. Good example of Thai management. The rail network is turning out to be the same.
