  1. At least make the couch big enough to substitute as a bed if necessary.
  2. Harbour Freight sells a 8.5" x 5" x 5" safe that will fit inside just about any hotel safe. It fits in carry on luggage also.
  3. Party island Koh Phangan to build its first airport Celebrating the full moon just got a lot easier: Kan Air will build an airport and launch Bangkok-Koh Phangan flights By Hiufu Wong 18 October, 2012 One more excuse to go all-out: we can just hop on a flight after the party. Koh Phangan, Thailand's gorgeous island famed for the full moon parties that take place on Haad Rin Beach, will soon get its own airport. Why didn't they think of that earlier? There is little worse than enduring the rocky two-hour ferry ride away from Koh Phangan with a mega party hangover.
  4. North and South Towers? Shouldn't it be East and West towers?
  5. Legacy Express on Soi 1, a good spot for what you are trying to do if you don't want to pay for the Conrad.
  6. Judging by the water line in the second picture, the rooms aren't level.
  7. I would sure like to try some Vietnamese restaurants in Pattaya. I really like some of the dishes served here in the USA but I have no frame of reference to determine how "Americanized" they are. Vinegar salad and hot pots are my favorites.
  8. Got anything with a reasonable departure hour?
  9. Do the right thing and adopt one of the stray dogs. My father did that and it became the easiest and loyal dog he ever owned. Prior to being taken in the dog had lived off of squarells, rabbits, and the occasional cat.
  10. is that a cigarette lighter on the lower right of photo # 3?
  11. Tom, do you work for the Thai Tourism Authority full or part time?
  12. Everything you wanted to know about Samsung capacitors. Even how to fix them yourselves in 15 minutes. http://www.dailytech.com/Samsung+to+Pay+Millions+to+Settle+Lawsuits+Over+Mass+LCD+TV+Failures/article24065.htm By the way, plug those electrolytics in backwards and it makes for a really cool show.
  13. Saw an elderly man on one flying down the alley between Soi 7 and Soi 8 with a young lady riding on the back of it hanging on for dear life :) That's when I realized that Pattaya is a retirement home for dirty old men. :)
  14. Soi Metro is the new in place for English speakers.
  15. Map needs to be updated http://www.cherrybar.biz/Maps.aspx
  16. That's because the two week vacationers are trying to work in new years also.
  17. Tom, do the banks in Thailand offer safety deposit boxes? I don't like ATM cards because they aren't protected against fraud like credit cards. Take a look at the 1500 baht safes in most Thai hotels. See that little label on the front of them. It peels off and right behind it is the backup key hole that any amateur locksmith could pick in 30 seconds. If nothing else, tell the staff that you want the backup key and throw it in the safe also. Thai Garden hotel in north Pattaya has the best in room safes I have seen anywhere. When the battery died in mine it took three personnel
  18. That wasn't me. That was my other persona.
  19. I'm wondering if Thai Regional will really fly or if it is someone just practicing setting up a website. TR claims to have flights starting October 2012 including flights to Hua Hin.
