I may have got some from Tukcom before. It's hit and miss. The first thing I would do, is a virus and malware scan of the disk. You will find that some need to go straight into the trash can with out being installed. Others work great.

Back on topic. I am interested in what Barrief asked. He wanted a speed boat for the day. Most have seemed to assumed that he wanted to go to a beach, and have the boat wait. I have been to Koh Larn 3 times, to 3 different beaches. None of them lived up to my expectations. I grew up on the beach in southern California and am used to lots of eye candy on the beach. Okay, this is Thailand, not Calif. So far, the best beaches I have found were on Koh Samui. A bit expensive for a one day trip. Here is what I would like. I would like to rent a boat for the day, and do some boating, and exploring of the islands. Do some para sailing. I'd like to check out several beaches and find one that I really like. I would also like to find for future reference, a deserted beach where 6 or 8 of us could show up with food, drinks, and a BBQ, and be by ourselves, not bothered by hawkers or someone else's music. I don't mind paying for extra gas, or a higher price to cover the extra usage. Barrief if you are looking for the same thing, and wouldn't mind another couple or two along, I or we would be happy to split the cost.

Not a bad Idea you had about staying in BKK. There will be gridlock. When you get to that point, you can get out of the taxi, bus, or van and jump on a motorbike taxi for the rest of the way in. That is if you are not bringing a huge amount of luggage. I would consider just bring a backpack, and your carry on. Shirts, shorts, saddles, and toilet items can be bought cheap here. If you want to take more home with you. Next to the Lek hotel on second road is a place where you can buy the biggest piece of luggage allowed on an international flight (with out paying extra) for less than 1000 baht. Being able to motorbike taxi threw town could save you several hours on your travel time. Refer to MM's post. Good luck

There will be some that will disagree, however, that was my experience with Norton.
