Dr Aree's has the best reputation in Pattaya. She is the dentists of all my expat friends, that use a dentist. She is not cheap though. You are correct. The complaints seem valid, and probably are. Personally, I wouldn't expect any better for 550 baht a night during high season in Pattaya. Then again, I wouldn't stay in a place that cheap, knowing what it would be like. There are plenty of well recommended hotels and guest houses on this forum. Some of the owners are respected board members. Wouldn't it be prudent to spend a couple of baht more and go for one of those places?

Narin condo's have places in your price range. Many own their condo's or have several. The Narin rental office tacks on a couple of thousand baht to what an owner wants and will rent rooms. It's best to go in and ask questions from tennants, if they know if a place for rent.
