What i have done in the past is when i want a break from pattaya i have a list of hotels and phone numbers and just call and see what deals they are offering and some will also pick you up from the airport. Hope this is useful. step

Hi Pete Came in for somethig to eat a couple of times last month and the food was great. The only thing was as you have said a little slow coming. Do you think that if you did a daily special off the menu that it would help. I will be back in for a meal when i get back in march. step

I am flying with eva in march so i phoned to pre-book my seat. I will be going out on the 747 but returning at the end of the month on the 777. The girl on reservations said that they will be using the 747 during the high season and that they will use the 777 in the low season. I did like the upgrade on the old 747 but not on the 777, will have to check it out on the refurbished plane. step

Just booked with them today for my october trip. Booking online was 467.00 pounds but as i like to make my booking on the phone i paid the extra total 471.30. What a difference a week makes, when i checked last weekend i think the price was about 580.00 pounds. Only snag with the ticket price was that you cannot claim your air miles but i can live with that. I checked the price for my march trip and that was 520.00 so a 50.00 pound saving cant be bad although that will be spent on a yet to be found tg. step

I have used westeast travel for the last couple of years and i have found them to be very good. What i do is go on to their website and in the contact us part i put my dates and submit it to them. They reply by e-mail normally the next day with the prices and any deals for those dates and i have a contact name if i want. I then phone them with the deal i want and quite often it is improved on the phone and i am still talking to them when they send all the details via e-mail. Never had a problem and i plan to keep on using them. regards step

I read on stickman that there is a strong rumour that it wont be open till march 2007. I hope that is the case as i am due to arrive on the 6th of october. When i pre-booked my seat with eva they said to call them closer to the departure date and they might know more by then. regards step

Nidnoyham I think the hotel you mean is called the A-one. It is on beach road and the corner of soi 2. Have never stayed there but from people i have spoken to the reports are good. The chinese coach groups go there early evening for a buffet meal by the pool wich does look quite good. Sorry i have no idea on prices though. Hope this helps. step

hawkeyes I only bring cash with me, but there are plenty of places to change your cheques. Dont bother getting any baht in the uk, just change some cash when you arrive at the airport in bangkok. You will find the exchange rate the same as pattaya and there are several exchange places. I take my visa card but only for a emergancy. Sorry but i cant help with your hotel. step

Jimmac The old woman and one girl cant remember her name have a barbers/ beauty shop at the tropicana hotel on beach road just past soi 6 heading south. I heard that lampoon who worked there and had a fallen out with the old woman proir to the beach view closing is opening a barbers shop in the new sabai lodge at the top of soi 1. Hope you find them okay. step

There is a small booth going up beach road from soi 2 past soi 1 where the old metropolitan bank used to be. Always check your change here because one or two of the tellers will short change you if they can. You are much better off on the second road by soi3 which also has an atm. step

Guys What are the best seats to try and get in evergreen, or is there little to choose between them. I normally go for a aisle seat so i can get up and walk about as and when i want. step

Shauna BJs was still open in march for grub and rooms. They are having a new place built on soi 4 i think. I believe it is to be about six or seven stories high and i assume that builing has started. They did have a model near the cashier. I think that they were hoping the new place would be finished next year. Hope this helps. step

Thanks for all the info guys and just two more questions. Can you give me the phone number for eva, the one i have is a wrong number. Question number two is can you get air miles for economy class seats or only for evergreen seats. Have flown economy several times but this will be the first time i have tried the evergreen service. Hi guys I have joined eva airs evergreen club and i was wondering how long it takes to get air miles credited to you. Assuming my travel agent registed them staight away none are showing after two + weeks. Dont want to go off at the travel agent if its a lengthy process. Thanks for any help.

I used tic travel for a car to pattaya. they have a travel shop at the bottom of soi 2 and another on beach road next to the beachview hotel. sent a e-mail and driver was waiting with my name on a board. the price was 1200bt plus tolls. paul2204 not flown with them myself and have only spoken to one person who had. He had a seven hour delay on the change of aircraft in turkey which is supposed to be normal. The prices at the airport are also supposed to be expensive. step

ratshead I assume the building between sois 1 and 2 your talking about is markland. I you see Lek at BJs restaurant a little further up she has some condos she rents some condos out for app. 750bt per night.If your going to be staying for some time you may get a better rate.Lek is BJs wife so she speaks good english or you could leave your wife to sort it out in thai with her. step
