Here at home, I mix lime juice, brown sugar, chili, garlic and soy sauce. Have started using dried, crushed chilies instead of fresh because it's more convenient. Not what the OP wanted, just saying.

Seems to be a good alternative to the Cambodia run. 2000 Baht for a decent seat on a big bus and not much difference in overall time spent. Is anybody offering Pattaya to Myanmar?
