On Sky TV last night was 'Bangkok Bound' and in this edition a London guy got hooked up with a TG Well, it worked out well for them both and he started Christys ladyboy cabaret bar in Ko Samui, I guess Chaweng. They were later going to expand the bar, the programme seemed a couple of years old. Not sure how the guy got the necessary paperwork to run the business, or if business is still booming.

Thanks echster, aircraft looks great. I will be booking shortly for LHR-BKK in early November. Hopefully PL but if not then EDlxe.

For UK members, I read in the Mail on Sunday last week. Quest Travel, 10 nights at Dusit Resort inc flights £499. If serious you would have to double check and I guess it is for 2 sharing. Still a good deal if you are not Big Butterfly

kevin You should get out more, you know there are better hotels than Baybreeze

EVA seem to offer the better deals from USA airports on their web site. It is very difficult to find any LHR deals on their web site, probably because the flights are always busy. Maybe in the UK we have more consolidators than in the USA. Any up to date news on the 777s, they are suposed to be on some LHR-BKK flights from September but no info yet on the EVA site when you go to Fleet Facts.

Millwall Well done mate, you got in just right, I just checked Expedia, now £491 I'll be a couple of days behind you and Tom

TT The Montri doesn't have a pool does it? Anyone know how Porn Ping compares with Royal Lanna? There are good reports about RL, I will be in CM for the first time in November, about Loy Krathong time.

barrington et al I think it depends on the staff on the flight how the drinks situation goes, some good some not so. May be first worth asking for purser; then getting out a notebook and ask flight attendant for her name so you can get in touch with Evaair head office that may encourage them to get a singha out I noticed with Eva they only have female F/As, perhaps the pilot comes down if theres any aggro Tom or someone else may know the answer to this, if I pay for Evergreen and use my FF miles to upgrade to Business, do I still earn FF miles on the Evergreen fare which I have

Guys, it's your holiday, you don't need to be changing planes or flying crappy airlines just to save a few quid. Keep your eyes peeled in the newspapers and on the internet etc. There will be some decent fares show up on direct flights, in time.
-
Thats cool, makes the flight more interesting

When I visited the USA and flew with United you could listen to Air traffic on channel 9 of the radio, post 911 do they still let you do that? FWIW before it wasn't every flight, captains discretion.

I read on another forum that a Singapore 777 and a Thai, think 747 had a coming together at Don Muang last week. Will cost a few quid to repair the aircraft but fortunately no injuries. Both pilots are now flying rubber dog shit out of Hong Kong.

MAGNUM Wherever you stay you are in THE ACTION, baht buses are every 5 seconds, in fact you will see thousands of the fucking things.

Marriott Pattaya 1000bht joiner fee???
Gus replied to besty's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I am not saying this about the Marriott but with some hotels EVEN if you book a double they hit you with a joiner fee, I know from personal experience at the Montien. It doesn't cost anything to send an e-mail to the hotel you fancy staying at asking them their guest policy. If the reply is affirmative print and keep for when you arrive at hotel, just in case. I did this with Peninsula in Bangkok, however they were good as gold and I had no need to show the e-mail. This only applies to the quality hotels with a dubious guest policy, no problems with Sandy Spring, Apex etc etc etc FWIW mos -
Marriott Pattaya 1000bht joiner fee???
Gus replied to besty's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
besty Send an e-mail to the hotel, ask their direct internet rates and ask if there's a joiner fee. Sometimes the joiner fee only applies if you book through a travel agent. -
Apex is probably the best value for money, about 450, maybe less, much nearer for baht bus and all you can eat buffet breakfast.

Hippie I paid 800 and the rooms are OK, from the web they seem about twice the size as the standard room, not sure if they are called deLuxe. FWIW I have stayed in The Peninsula, Landmark, JWM and Westin in Bangers and I found them all great, the only great thing about Baybreeze is the big value room you get for a Tenner(£11). I paid 2500 at SS for a suite, nothing wrong but the saving of 1700 pays for my ladys. I have spent several nights at Pinnacle resort Jomtien, the rooms are nice but the hotel is too far from the action. BB for me next time, but large room again, worth the extra 30

If you are not happy with the value Baybreeze gives there must be something wrong with you OK, JWM or Westin it is not, but if you pay about 800 for the big room you have excellent value for your money. The water was always hot and plentiful, the sheets changed daily, the towels changed daily, room safe, TV, mini bar. I never tried the pool and I never had breakfast but I found the hotels location fine, especially for Baht Buses. On check in I asked reception, " OK to bring lady back?" She replied, "Only One!" When I entered my room the window was open but it was 8-30pm, a mo

Opodo have a great deal at the moment, I think it is book by mid May and for holidays in May and June. Fly Qantas from LHR or MAN, 10 nights at Dusit Resort Pattaya £559. Sounds a good deal, not sure about any single supplements , I think it includes Taxes. I KNOW I KNOW, I Fink too much

There seems a lot of GoGos on Walking Street available, is this because the government may knock down the sea side of the road in the future and the owners are bailing out? darbs, There are many British bar owners, I am sure when you are there if you buy them a beer they'll give you loads of good info. Be careful though, you know how the saying go's "How do you make a small fortune in Pattaya?" "Start off with a Big one!" Some of the Brit bar owners I speak to say they do not make much money but it leaves them OK and after all they are in Pattaya, I think within Thailand the bett

9 I have only stayed in a suite and IMHO at 2500 not really worth the extra, better to spend it on TGs.

ray Funny enough I did a few sums in my head and thought that I would need £500 per week to live in Pattaya, this is for hotel/apartment,drinks, food, bar fines, Lt money, clothes, massage etc etc. This seems to be the amount your friend has spent 500x 52 = 25K, that's the trouble, your money just goes no matter how frugal you try to be. Possibly the only way around it is not to 'pay bar' for lady every night, then what's the point of being in LOS anyway, I guess you would need £250K to have half a chance, unless you drink outside 7/11 and shag Beach Road skanks for 300.

35K, about 20 first class returns LHR-BKK Darbs, I reckon you got a bit excited about your plans, this is the airline deals section, maybe you will get more replies in another section.

A wonderful tribute, I never knew Om but I am sure I must have met her on a visit to FLB. Two very poignant images were, 'Laughter through the Tears' and Oms pet dog. RIP

I am not sure whether to try a Limo service car next trip. However, if I pay around 1,900 I want a good driver who doesn't hang around, a very good car and no changeovers en route to Pattaya. I guess it's a case of treating the drivers in arrivals like a BG, ask them all the relevant questions before deciding, of course that means the driver being truthful something that thais are not very good at not like us Farangs
