Tom Thanks for the update on the Eva 773. Thursday I am going to London, 1/ to have a chat with OURS and book my flight, I am on the waitlist at the moment, but not sure if confirmed for economy. They are supposed to get back to me but I expect they cannot get an answer from Eva. 2/Also I'll have a trip round the girlie bars of Shoreditch, but they are nowhere as interesting as the girlie bars of Thailand. Eric Not done too much searching but try Opodo.co.uk I randomly put in a couple of dates in April £2800 First class with Thai. According to flat seats Thai 1st is Lie Flat.

I first saw it mentioned on Flyertalk so I checked out the Eva Air site. From mid September BR will be using a 777-300ER on BR067 and 068, probably just on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays for a start. The 777 has no Super first class, it seems as though the Tuesday flight will be 747-4 and Wednesday the Combi. I guess Eva will not be able to ship so much cargo losing the Combi one day a week.

At the end of November my taxi passed the new airport on the way from Pattaya to Bangkok, looks a lot of work still to be done. Given their track record with BTS and MTR end of 2006 looks more likely. IMHO

Do any of you guys know the best seat in Eva economy on the Combi? I am going out 6th Feb returning 27th Feb but OURS can only confirm economy with waitlist for Evergreen, so I maybe have to go steerage class. I have looked at the seat plans for the 747 Combi, row 35 is bulkhead which probably means children and stiff neck looking at screen. Row 45 is exit row but is right next to toilets so a lot of people hanging around, doors banging, toilet flushing etc. Row 54 has only 2 seats each side and looks OK but it is next to the galley, call buzzers going off all the time but maybe best bet IF a

When I just came back from BKK to LHR the check in staff at Don Muang were giving Deluxe pax a piece of paper to read. Basically it said they were overbooked on Evergreen and would give you ???baht to travel in economy. I forget the amount (maybe around 6000) but it wasn't really any better than if you had bought an economy ticket in the first place. I doubt if they got many takers, I told them I had no objection being moved upstairs but that fell on deaf ears

I went to Ours Travel yesterday and picked up my Evergreen Deluxe tickets for the forthcoming flight. The guy was very good, he said I can also have FREE National express coach travel to and from LHR, I got the impression that this was an Eva thing rather than an Ours Travel one. So any of you UK guys who book on Evergreen you can always ask your agent about FREE coach travel.
