  1. Hi, Well said spacebass.
  2. Hi, The A380 is really an improvement on the Jumbo. Are you saying the commercial Jumbo's are flying empty ? In future I am calling it the Nightmareliner. Airbus have a plane in development called the A350 which will supercede the A330 and be a competitor to the Nightmareliner. Where is the American companies competitor to the Airbus A380 ?
  3. Hi, The usual suspects, who know nothing about aviation, turn up on these threads. Where is Cheshire Tom and bob2005 who seem to know what they are talking about ? The only constant is change and the 747 and Airbus A380 will be in museums in years to come. I know some people think the 747 is a good plane but can we fly on it forever ? Airbus are pushing the boundaries of commercial aviation and they have had some problems with the fly-by-wire technology in the past, but we would still have no aircraft if risks weren't taken. It is disingenuous to compare the 767 and A380 as they are different types of aircraft and will fly different routes as Cheshire Tom has clearly stated in the past.
  4. Hi, In the future environmental issues are going to be a big consideration as well as the bottom line. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_east/6166897.stm £34m 'green' research at Airbus
  5. Hi, I see the French have helped you out of the shit again. It remains to be seen if the 787 will be ready on time. As Cheshire Tom has already stated on another thread the 787 and the Airbus A380 are different types of aircraft serving different types of routes. The 787 is a run of the mill aircraft while the Airbus A380 is a revolutionary new plane which supersedes the 747. The American company will, sooner or later , have to build a plane in opposition to it as the 747 becomes obsolete with new rules on global warming etc taking effect. That is the challange they will have to face sooner or later.
  6. Hi, Looks like a good party. Jomtien can do with some good bars IMO.
  7. Hi, I use IE6 and Firefox 2.0. I can't install IE7 as I am running 2000 on my laptop. I find IE tends to be faster on these forums, but Firefox seems to have better security. Maybe Firefox would be faster if I had XP or some other newer OS but I am happy to play around with this setup when I am on the net.
  8. Hi, This is the critical point which make any actions in UK useless even if they were well intentioned. I think they are using global warming as an excuse to raise taxes and screw us. Ten years ago John Prescott was talking about an "integrated travel plan" or somesuch. What's happened that ? Public transport is in a mess and very expensive. If they were serious they would put lots of money into the rail system and have cheaper fares. As this has not happened we must assume it's all a joke.
  9. Hi, I'm sure it's all a revenue raising scam.
  10. Hi, More airlines/airline manufacturers the better for the consumer. Lets have competition International Style and not American Style where they run off to the WTO at the first hint of free trade.
  11. Hi, Interesting post and you are more advanced than most people in the hardware you have available. Agree there is big changes ahead in the future and big players like Murdoch and the major TV channels may lose out as they will find it very hard to control the direction of the media. I think the main problem is download speeds and mp3's are a products of this compromise. I think you have more or less arrived at the place people want to go, but lots of progress has to be made to make the vision a reality for the mass market.
  12. Hi, I agree with the last poster that there is no hard and fast answer. However, I was chatting to a very helpful Aussie at Lastminute one day and she told me if you are going in March/April maybe better to book in January as business can be slow after Christmas and prices may come down. On the run to Christmas everybody from butchers to blacksmiths seem to put prices up. Even Tesco were caught out boosting their prices. So much for seasons goodwill.
  13. Hi, I believe Eva are buying the new Airbus (A380) to operate this route when they become available. It has much more space and legroom and may have bars and casino's on board.
  14. Hi, I believe Eva are buying some new Airbus A380's to replace the old jumbo's so you will have more space and legroom in the future when they come on stream.
  15. Hi, 1. Indian Tailors 2. Baht bus drivers 3. Chinese tour groups 4. Street vendors 5. Lesiurely strolls across 2nd Road.

  18. Hi, There might be some job vacancies in Vietnam for some American boardies if relations keep going in positive direction.
  19. Hi, Nice photos. Well done to the European team for giving our American cousins a lickin.
  20. Hi, See, now he's been in Vietnam now same, same, you.
  21. Hi, When you give up on politicians you have taken your first step to enlightenment IMO.
  22. Hi, The French are OK when you get to know them. This guy seems to have some issues but often they are not great travellers as , like the Thais they think their country/ways are the best. Mind you the food, drink and girls aint bad in France either IMO.
