iPhone 5 uses nano SIM which is smaller than the micro SIM. I know both regular SIM (which is actually called mini SIM believe it or not because the "full sized SIM" is the size of a credit card) and micro SIM are sold at 7-11. But as with any item at 7-11, stock may be out. I don't know if they sell nano SIMs at 7-11. As mentioned before, just go to the mobile section of any mall and shop around there. Don't bother buying a cutter as the phone shops will do that for you if possible.

Bicycle as a primary method of transportation
BeerBelly replied to simplelife's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
hahahahahahaha..... The guys in wheelchairs use the roads instead of the sidewalks in Pattaya. Recently, I ran across a sidewalk ramp that had a electric pole support cable going right down the middle of it making the ramp completely useless. I'm curious which people would think is more dangerous, riding a bike on the roads or riding a motorbike on the roads. Certainly the motorbikes can go faster than a peddle bike much of the time. But then again, you can also get out of the way quicker. -
Nicely written complaint letter. Far too often people complain, but then forget to say what they want out of it. Personally, I think their response was crap. Basically they were simply claiming "safety", however, the issues you were pointing out were not safety related. Seriously putting on the in flight entertainment would be risky to the aircraft? Letting people use the restroom is unsafe? I get the feeling they gave you the miles simply to "shut you up".

I've had many stones in the last few years, most pass without requiring a procedure, the last one took a month to do so. i have one now that I'm not sure I'll pass any time soon. I thought it might be a good idea to have it taken care of while still in Thailand. If anyone has had a procedure done recently, I'd like to know where and how much it cost as well as which procedure specifically. I doubt with the position of the stone I can use lithotripsy, so I especially would like to hear from those who have had other procedures.

I recently used Google Voice via Google Hangout to make an 800 number call. Of course, I had to do it with my computer, but it worked just fine.

Gas station Pattaya Tai scammers

I was there a couple of weeks ago and they had a recording telling the customers to look at the meter and check their change. Today, however, I didn't hear this recording. -
Another Beach Road Story

Having looked at them a bit more, I think they are mounts for bollards. The light post mounts are much beefier, so these mounts are for something a lot shorter. I found a few of them not yet buried and when installed would not be able to support the torque that would be placed on them from tall posts. Also, I see there is a line of them dividing the walkway from the road. -

As someone who has gotten nail in the eyes by one of these steel tubes while walking, I can attest that they are a real hazard. Anothe 1/2 inch over, I could have been blinded. As it was, I just got a small scar and lots of scared looks from passers by as there was an unusual amount of blood running down my face. I would like to know what the unmarked studs are for as well. I doubt they are for lighting as I don't see any place for wires in the middle. -
Customs, or immigration? Customs has never been more than ten seconds, just walk through the nothing to declare line. It appears that they use the priority or diplomatic lane for immigration.

ATMs where you can still withdraw 20,000 baht?
BeerBelly replied to MeGoDanceNow's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
You can call your bank and have them increase your limit fairly easily. I've done this with Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Charles Schwab, although I think the last one asked what I wanted my limit to be when I opened the account.. Interesting. When I used Bank of America, they would charge me $5 for ever withdrawal on top of the fee baht the foreign bank charges which was why I closed the account. When I withdrawal, the operations are Enter Pin, select English, press withdrawal, select other amount, select current account, enter amount and press correct/OK, then enter Yes -
ATMs where you can still withdraw 20,000 baht?
BeerBelly replied to MeGoDanceNow's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Over the past three months, I've been taking out money from various ATMs around Thailand with my US ATM card and have never encountered a 180 baht fee or a 10,000 baht limit. 150 seems to be the normal fee and Aeon is free. My bank reimburses the fees, so am not too concerned about them. The only issues I've ever had were once I was hitting my limit too easily when the baht was strong, and just today and yesterday the ATM near my hotel appeared to be out of 1000 baht notes. It has a 30 note limit and the message seemed to indicate it only had 100 baht notes. I wonder if the 180 baht fe -
The others were tried, convicted, and sentenced. But strange that both happened around Christmas. Initially I wondered if it was simply an old story reposted with a new date, but the details were different. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

I saw that story as well. Just doing a Google search, I found it here http://www.pattayadailynews.com/en/2013/12/26/3-thai-men-raped-2-russian-women/ so it is still out there. But I'm not seeing any other sources. The other links in the results point to this single source.

http://www.pattayaone.net/pattaya-news/112628/motorists-and-business-operators-complain-about-new-pattaya-beach-speed-humps/ Motorists and Business Operators complain about new Pattaya Beach Speed Humps Posted on December 20, 2013 at 3:09 am In the early hours of Thursday a 26 year old man suffered minor facial injuries after he was thrown 20 meters off of his motorbike onto the road after he failed to see newly constructed road humps on Pattaya Beach Road. The injured man along with other concerned residents and business operators believe the new humps will cause a serious accident whic -
In general, I find things that are too time consuming in the States are available here because of the lower cost of labor. Not sure what you mean by the statement that you can't get a cup of hot tea. I've never experienced this. Unless you are saying that in the States they bring you a cup of hot water and a tea bag because it is too time consuming for them to steep it for you.

I was wondering what the difference between American Iced Tea and cha dum yet was as well. Personally, I like cha manao. I thought his distinction was the unlimited refills. Does Carl's Jr have freshly brewed iced tea? I think they stopped making it fresh in my home town and resort to the premixed crap. I, like short, also don't understand why places don't serve freshly brewed iced tea. It is much cheaper than the canned crap.
