I dont pretend to know all that much about property and the vageries of the Thai property market are well beyond me but,I was under the impression (what I was told) that Thai prices were between 30-40% less than farang prices,making it still a poor deal even if you count the good decorations.

A classic. But yes, I definitely screwed up and you are right. There are very few European families on the deckchairs at Pattaya beach at midnight, or five hours either side of midnight. Why do you insist on being a tool.I posted a perfectly civil answer and you twist it to suit your argument. I purposely did not try to be argumentative only to say that I personally had never seen the beach busy at all except on those occasions when there was a special occasion.I mentioned that I did not get down to beach rd often in the daylight ,I did not say I only got down there at midnight,I did say I only come to Pattaya in the low season.Are you saying I am lying and that I have seen crowds of farang families or are you as usual being disingenuous because you have no real argument and only conjecture, like the rest of us.

A very nice apartment and a reasonable price,but aren't Thai quota condos much cheaper than Farang quota.This does not seem to be that cheap,but I may be wrong.

I am prepared to be proven wrong ,but whenever I have visited Pattaya in the last 6/7 years the beach has been almost deserted.I admit I dont get down to beach rd in daylight often and I have only been in Pattaya between April and September,but I never saw any crowds apart from a couple of occassions when there was a special event on the waterfront,and that was mainly thais.I personally remember only 1 occassion when I sat on the Beach and I have stayed in Pattaya for about 20 months in the last 7 years.I am not a beach peson but I would not spend time on the beach at Pattaya ,in fact I would not frequent the beach rd area were it not for the Ladies and the bars.

I agree that many think they have food poisioning when its something else.I had the one episode of food poisioning ,where I was in bed for a week and lost over a stone in weight,thats food poisioning ,having a dose of the shits can be down to as little as a change in the quality of the water you are drinking.

I don't necessarily disagree with your conclusions,I don't however understand why they should be relevant to mongers or cheap charlies (like me)as the only reason we come to Pattaya is the cheap sex .High end hotels are not why the average monger comes to Pattaya and if the mongers are driven away the places that market themselves to mongers will have to close,That is how it works.Having closed they will be making no money and will lose the owners money.How is this a good thing for the bars,discos and cheap hotels.Pattaya will change and so will the people making money from the town.I may be a cheap charlie but my 150,000/200,000 baht will not be in circulation if I am priced out of Pattaya.I will either go elsewhere or stay at home.Pattaya may be able to go on without mongers but the people who are in business to supply the mongers will go out of business,rather more quickly ,if they disregard their customers.

You actually accelerate at 32(.something)feet per second per second, till you hit terminal velocity which is sonewhere around 200kph,so at 10 meters of free fall you are no where near "terminal" velocity you are only falling at a relatively low speed of around 36 kph.ten more meters make that 72kph and so on.you have to fall about 85 meters before you hit terminal velocity.You can increase the speed (terminal velocity) at which you fall by assuming a head down(diving shape) position ,so decreasing the air resistance.The maximum speed achieved by a free faller with no special equipment ( other than a parachute) was approx 318kph,rather than the more usual 200kph. So terminal velocity is not always as fixed as you might think but it is much higher than a fall of 10 meters can produce.

And another thank you from me,I feel very nostalgic about Pattaya when I'm not there and the map makes it seem all a lot nearer.

I have only been in the Factory a few times but I admit I went more for Lam than the Girl singer ,in fact after the first time I went and found out the band timings I only went when it was Lams Time.I have to say that was more about the different musical styles than any problem with the girls voice.

I have only had food poisioning once in my quite long life and that was from a cafe in London.I am a wary eater all over the world and have always managed so far to avoid it even in the worst of places, which Pattaya is not.

Having visited the Tims website I am led to believe that it is a Downs Syndrome charity.I have to say that none of the kids in the video were recognisably Downs kids ,or is that because they are Asiatic and I just don't notice it in Thai kids.That's a serious question by the way.It may sound daft but when I saw the video all I saw were some great kids enjoying themselves and I had no idea that they were handicapped in any way other than in their English .I am so impressed with what I saw I will make a donation next time I am in town. PS the other vids posted are also fabulous

I am afraid you are not wholly correct on you description of eggs.Some cheap battery eggs are very yellow in the yolk as the chikens are fed a colour additive in their food to make the yolk yellow,so the colour of the yolk is not a reliable determinate of "quality".as for Hormone and anti biotics In the Uk at least you cant sell eggs from a chicken that has been given hormones or anti biotics within a certain time limit(I cant remember what that limit is ,but it is long enough that you cant detect the hormone or anti biotics in the chicken or egg)and the Omega 3 logo just means that the chickens have been fed some oil enriched food that may or may not be present in the eggs.I gathered this info whilst driving for both a battery egg outfit and a chiken hatchery,as well as the info I also got as many free eggs as I wanted. PS in the case of milk ,a cow that has been injected with anti biotics, hormones or any drug will have its milk thrown away until the anti biotics and everything else clears its system, other wise it will be detected in the tank and the whole tank will be unusable.As the tanker collects at many different farms the guilty farmer will have to pay for all the other farmers milk thatgets thrown away,so it does not happen often.At each farm you have to take 2 samples in sterile containers to determine milk quality as well as fat content.

I am now and have for as long as I can remember been what is known,on this board. as a cheap charlie,but I have to say that I found CDs Quality so low as to be uneatable,the service was also poor, so I no longer use his place,even if his prices are low.There are many places that charge a lot more than CDs that are just as bad taste wise but there are also many that are much better than CDs but not much dearer.I can therefore eat reasonably well for a reasonable price in many places in Pattaya .One other thing is that Crazy Dave has not come by that moniker for being a calm and moderate person.On his day, or night, he can cause noise polution all up and down Soi Chiapoon all on his own,it gets even louder if one of his drunk Farang customers is involved, which also makes his eatery one to avoid.
